Model Reviewed: EVO-31 RO Irons

I have been playing the EVO31 Reduced Offset irons for several years. They have a crisp feel and great look. The progressive cavity design was ahead of its time. The set goes from a muscleback in the PW to a full cavity in the 3I. I have been a forged blade guy for years and these have the look and feel of forged clubs. I have tried 5 or 6 other sets since I put these in my bag the first time and I keep coming back to them. I recommend them to anyone who doesn't like the "anvil on a stick" game improvement irons.

These irons have a thin top line and minimal offset. They are clean and responsive. The irons are crisp and LONG.......the 2 iron is a 225 club each and every swing....very accurate as well. The 7 iron is a solid 160 club, and the PW is out to 110......some distance gaps, but you can break records with this set......They are very workable, yet forgiving and boost the ball to new heights! Try them, and I promise, you'll love them (if your game can handle semi blade designs)

So far i like these. bought them off of ebay for $80. good crisp feel, easy to control. better distance control than modern cavity backs. feels like a pure blade, but more forgiving.

Model Reviewed: evo V-31 R.O. Blades

The V-31 R.O. (reduced offset) Blades are one impressive set. They offer fantastic forgiveness and considerable shot-making ability. From address, the clubs offer a clean blade-like look with their minimal offset and thinnish top-line. I've owned my set (with 6.0 Tour Flighted Rifles) for four years now and still love them. Admittedly, I often play-test other irons but the V-31's have already this season successfully fended off the Titleist 704.cb's and are now battling with a set of Callaway X-18 Pro Series irons. They're a graduating cavity design where the the cavity grows smaller throughout the set from the 3 iron to the blade PW. More than adequate forgiveness and VERY solid. This set is not forged as this thread's title suggests, but they feel better in my hands than the 704.cb's which are indeed forged. For the price in which they can be had now, especially on ebay, they're a steal. I haven't seen another set with rifle shafts but the True Temper Tri-Gold shafts that typically come stock have received favorable reviews. If you're looking for an inexpensive set that has a nice balance of forgiveness and shot-making ability, this one fits the bill. But, get your own... you can't have mine. :-)
