Summary: Having owned many of the SMT models( Gleneagles, Baltusrol, Shinnecock, 455DB, Nemesis, O2 and Spectrum) I must say it's a pity that the Mv2 now is dicontinued. The Mv2 (8.5*) was my first SMT club and it's together with the Spectrum my all-time favourite driver. Currently it's shafted with the Assassin II x-flex w/ bore thru building 46". I've experimented a lot with different head/shaft combos but I always come back to this deep faced darling. It's as long as the newer SMT's and very easy to line up and hit. I'd give a six for playability and a seven for value if possible. Tried to get me bunch of heads when they were on sale but only found the very low lofts. If you ever find a used one, don't hesitate, grab it.

Model Reviewed: SMT mv2 8.5*
Summary: Own a snake eyes AerMet 10*, 47"/thermopro stiff, recently hitting that to the end of range to 260 yards (swing speed, 80-low 90s, typical 230-250 yards + <10 yard roll, parabolic trajectory). Just the trajectory is bit too high and have to tee it low to avoid occasional slices. Can't help to ride the hype about SMT drivers, bought the 8.5* with AccuFlex extreme2 X flex, 45". First 2 buckets in range were hard, especially with 1.125" rubber tee. Tried again with 1.75" tee height: Hot off face;true boring trajectory; straighter when slicing comapred to AerMet;220-240 yards + 15-20 yards rolls, fairly comparable with AerMet, would probably have less balls out of bound on course. swing is not as easy as AerMet, but it is a good fitness driver for me, about 1 or 2 swing weight heavier than AerMet. Really not supposed to use the low loft/X stiff combo for my swing, but the result is quite surprising, considering the shorter shaft and thicker face on mv2, the only explanation is the larger sweet spot (with deep face height) really compensates my slower speed. The head looks like a 300cc driver.
It should be really solid for those fast swing golfer, a truely lean-back and smack-it type hammer.
