Summary: Great club, but I think the shaft is crucial. I have an 8.5* with an EI-70 shaft that really works. Every time I see one in the driving range's used bin with another shaft, I pull it out and try. Sometimes the difference is night and day.
I find it more controllable than the 980E and K, both of which I've tried on the course - though not with the EI-70.
Bottom line for me is you must concentrate with this driver if you want to be rewarded. If you think you can swing it like a 460, you will be punished.

Summary: I've only had this in my bag for about three years now, but I've never regretted a minute. Most of the other reviews on this page are correct, maybe a little too positive though. I love this club when I'm on the ball. The sweet spot is small, but when you get a hold of it the drive will sail long and true. The only issue I have is that since it's an older club with a smaller head size the balance isn't quite as good as the newer drivers with the larger heads.

Summary: I found a great deal on this club on ebay in almost new shape and i couldn't pass up. I've played about 10 rounds with this club so far this season and love it. I've hit Titleist drivers for years but never came around to buy it. I had used an Adams 818 SC Fade 9* for about 5 years unil i developed a constant draw with it. It got to the point where i started using my 3 wood off the tee because i could work the ball better. The Titleist delivers in every aspect. I love the ball flight, i can still tee pretty low for an 8.5* driver and still get a nice ball flight. Also the size head is perfect. I don't like the new jumbo sized drivers. I can work the ball with relatively solid consistency, get good feedback and it doesn't feel like i'm swinging a sledge hammer.

Summary: I have the 975D in 7.5* with a stiff ProLite shaft(the yellow and purple one). Picked this club up about 6 years ago when I was in 8th grade or so (looking back on it, not exactly sure why). But through the years I have grown to LOVE this club. I have a pretty fast swing speed and when you hit this club solid in the sweet spot, there is nothing better. It's like hitting a baseball right in the sweet spot. But if you mis-hit the ball, have fun trying to find it in the weeds. Really have to learn how to play the 7.5* as well.
I know they are selling this club on ebay for about $10 right now. Not for the high handicapper. Highly suggest getting this club if you are not into the 400-460cc drivers. They have no feel to them. This pear shape gives you the feel and workability you need.

Summary: by far --the 975 is the best driver i have ever owned...although the 7.5 is NO cake walk, especially with the ei-70..but if you have the confidence a a swing like 100-120 it will sound and send it soo sweet...-no room for error
