Summary:
Traded in my Cleveland Launcher Comp Tour Driver for this club straight up at 2nd Swing. I think i got the better end of the deal, because this is the first 3 wood i've been able to consistently hit off the deck with very good accuracy and trajectory. this is the steel head, not the titanium. it looks low profile, but it sets up pretty square next to the ball. my 3 wood is paired with an Aldila NV 65 Stiff shaft and plays at 43 inches. it is awesome off the tee, and even better off the deck, for me! i was hitting the ball solidly 245-250 on the range. i played with it the first time on the course, and had 265 to the green on a par 5. ended up pitching on and made par with a 2-putt. i calculated i hit it about 240-245. not too shabby i say. i think the more comfortable i get with this club, i'll be able to add another 10 yards of length off the deck. i've already called this my back up driver, in case my 905T falters, which does when my swing gets lazy. i like this club so much, that i've dropped my old reliable mizuno blue rage 5 wood, favoring a sonartec md 2i hybrid. i only want one fairway wood in my bag that i can drive and hit off the deck. Now, i believe i've found one that will stay in my bag for awhile.

Summary:
I bought the Adams Redline 3 wood to fill out the 225-250 yard length in my bag. That was what I got with this club. If I keep my swing speed at a consistent pace it will give me 230-240 off the turf, and 240 plus off the tee. It gives me great accuracy for a club of this length although I find it more controllable if I hit a slight fade rather then a draw. Also I bought the club with a draw set-up. In hind sight I would have bought a neutral for my swing.
The graffaloy shaft has very little vibration and when you flush it the ball just takes off. The key here as with most long clubs is too keep the swing smooth and flowing and let the club do the work. Good club, Great value.

2005 Redline RPM 3wood stiff shaft

Summary:
I had been searching for a 3 wood for almost a year. My search ended yesterday morning at Golftown. I previously had an old 1998 Callaway Big Bertha but it was time to make a switch. I bought a Ping G2 on sale earlier this year, it was an awesome driver replacement. Off the tee I often outdrove my playing partners with their TM r7's! But when it came to playing of the deck, or out of the rough, the 14* loft and the 43.5 inch shaft became unwieldy. After a couple months of giving the G2 a fair trial, I traded her in for a TM Vsteel. They were being dumped for $139, and I thought it would look nice to compliment my TM r5 TP driver. Too my amazement, this 3 wood was even worse! Despite all the reviews I read in this website, it was terrible. To put it nicely, this club was good for wind cheating, lol. The only way I could get any elevation from the Vsteel, was to hit it towards the toe, and swing real aggressively. FYI, my driver swing speed is 108 mph, so I'm not that weak a hitter. Anyhow, bitterly disappointed, I went on searching again. I tried the r5 3wd, this club was great at getting the ball up, perhaps too good, probably due to the titanium head and substandard shaft that TM is notorious for, and with the crazy price tag, it was a no go. Then a sales rep at Golftown, asked if I had considered the Adams, and quite frankly 'no' I hadn't. Always thought of them as a senior's club. Anyhow, the rep taped them up and off to the simulator we went. It felt great! Reminiscent of my old Titleist 975D driver. It sounded like a persimmon head, and for those of us old enough to remember, ain't nothing sweeter than this sound. More importantly, I finally found a club head that was working for me. I found the shaft a little long (43 inches), apparently this is standard length for graphite shafted 3woods. So I traded in my TM vsteel, paid $50! Apparently they were unloading them for $98! These clubs were $298 last year! What a steal. So in the afternoon, I took my new toy out for a real test drive. I played a round at 6100 yd local muni. Left my r5 driver at home, to force my self to use the Adams on every par 4 and 5. WOW! This thing had some real pop. Like with my old G2, I was outdriving everyone in my foursome with this 3w. I hit monster tee shots all day, eg. short par 5 -480 yds, uphill, I was left with a 220 yd approach, you do the math. At first it was a little tricky figuring out tee height, due to the shallow face. For me, teeing it low, with half a ball showing above the clubhead was perfect. But, if it's windy,and you got to keep low, tee it a little higher and come in at a more shallow swing plane. Look, a club is not a miracle worker, you have to still swing properly, in fact I only hit 5/13 fairways (5 par 3's on this muni). The key is how far off are your misses, this Adams kept my misses very close to the fairway, I only had 2 real wild shots, and that was more me than the club. In conclusion, this is by far the best fairway wood I've hit since the Callaway Steelhead Plus from 6 yrs ago, but the Adams, sounds so much sweeter. I'm also going to cut the shaft 3/4 of an inch, because a 3wood should be easy to control - note, Sergio Garcia's r7 3wood shaft is only 42 inches, and I'm sure he can hit it farther than your driver. Give the 2005 Adams Redline a try, I highly doubt you'll be disappointed.
