Macgregor Tourney Driver

Summary:
The sweet spot on the driver is huuuuuuge. The ball flies lonnnnnnnnng and straight. it took a long time but I finally found the driver that was right for me. I tried the GBB II, R580, Hawkeye, none of them felt right. Although the GBB II very close but not quite the right driver. The graphite design stiff flex shaft is closer to a firm than truly stiff, which works out well for me. If anyone says that they slice this driver they need lessons not a new club. This club hits straight with both eyes closed. In contrast to the R580 with MAS shaft, I found that the Mac offered me a much greater sense of the club head. The R580 was all shaft and flex point.

Summary:
I got the 10.5 degree driver and the so-called 4 wood (it's more like a strong 3) for a song because the pro is pissed off at the Canadian distributor and is clearing out his MacGregor stock. Great luck for me - these woods are awesome. The first time out, I am finding myself closer to the green on the long holes after two shots than ever before, by thirty yards or more.
I recently bought a set of Tourney MT irons from the same pro and absolutely love them - dead accurate. I've even switched to the stiff shafts after twenty years of playing with regular. MacGregor makes a beautiful product. If you like a clean appearance and no gimmicks, give them a try.

Summary:
This is a great driver. i sold mine b/c i didn't get quite the distances of my Mizuno Ti Forged and I needed a higher loft, but if you are looking for a better version of the 975D, this is it. Very nice club and stock stiff shaft holds up well to hard swings.

well i tried these only on the range b/c a friend of mine insisted i tried them to see, and wow, they were fantastic, i was getting the same, if not more distance with my CLWY WB, but i liked the trajectory of my callaway better, but five stars * * * * *
