MacGregor V-Foil 3 and 5 wood

Summary:
I bought these fairway woods 2 years ago and liked them OK but not a whole lot. They seemed to either want to hook or fade but rarely go straight. when they did, however, they were great. Finally, in desperation I bought a pair of Cobra SZs and they were straighter but shorter. After a year with the Cobras I had the thought that maybe the problem with the V-Foils was the shafts. I had them reshafted with Aldila NV65 high launch R flex shafts. Now all is well with the world. They hit true and long and I am reaching par 5 greens in 2 where I was not able to before. In short, great clubheads, lousy factory shafts. If these are available cheap enough, buy the clubs and have them reshafted, you won't be sorry.

V-foil tourney 3 wood

Summary:
After breaking a shaft on my old three wood, I purchased this club from Rock Bottom Golf. I got the Aldila regular flex shaft, which feels more like a senior flex. I have trouble getting the face around on this club, even with an easy swing. All my other clubs (Taylormade, Adams, and Mizuno) play a slight draw for me, but this wood goes right from the moment of impact. The club is very nice looking, and makes a wonderful sound when striking the ball, but it is short. I hit my adams 3 wood 230+ from the fairway, but I am lucky to get 200 out of this club (I hit it about to my 4 iron length). I really don't like it.

MacGregor V-Foil 3-wood

Summary:
Loved the look of both the MacGregor 1025 irons and the V-Foil woods when they were introduced but was absolutely no way I would pay what they were asking for them. However, I recently picked up a 15 degree V-Foil 3-wood at Dick's for $59.95. Only had it in a regular-flex shaft which ended up being a blessing in disguise since it is very firm for a regular. Also would have preferred a strong 3 instead of the 15 degree but I have not sacrificed any distance. Would have preferred a lower ball flight but this baby is long and straight and pretty easy to hit consistently. I'm probably 18 for 20 with it so far and it has been a definite improvement over my Snakes Eyes with Graffaloy shaft.

Customer Service:
Not very customer oriented the best I can tell based on their total disregard of email inquiries.

strong 3,5,and 7 woods

Summary:
After buying [and loving]my V-Foil Driver last April,I was curious about the MacGregor fairway woods. I read the five reviews here and drove to the store to try the clubs.Ended up buying a strong 3,reg flex and a 5 wood firm flex, all that was in stock and too impatient to order and wait. Must be the shorter shaft, because all my other clubs are regular flex ,yet I hit the firm 5 fine.Wow! these clubs are each 10 to 15 yards longer than my previous clubs[McHenry].So, I just got the 7,also firm shaft and hit it straight too. They look good ang hit long and straight.Very happy.
