Description The idea is to make an efficient, integrated hybrid iron set that would get rid of the large gap between the 4-hybrid and the 5-iron. The result is a ball flight that matches your current long iron, b...
Summary: I golfed 10 years ago with some old wilson's. I eventually hit low 90's and then life got in the way. I started playing again and was hitting 100's with rental clubs or buddy's clubs. I bought a set of Nickent 3DX Hybrids and hit them long and straight. I get 175 yds out of the 3 hybrid with a very LOW powered swing. My game has improved greatly and still getting better. I am now hitting 200 yds and more with only slightly more power! Everybody at the course asks about them and are amazed....nice investment. I bought them at a local pro shop in Guam.
Customer Service: No problems yet, but the pro shop said service is great.
Summary: I bought these at the beginning of the season and I love them. I'm not a long hitter and these clubs help me get good distance with a nice, easy swing. I can work the ball with them, hitting a slight draw or fade when need be, but their real value is that it is easy to hit a straight ball with them. They are forgiving and mis-hits get good distance and generally stay in play. My confidence in my iron play has gone through the roof with these, as I know that if I take a divot and swing through the ball will go, go, go.
The hybrids are easy to hit, too, and are nice alternatives from the tee on tight holes.
My ball flight with these is a little lower than with my old TA3's, which is due to the stronger loft, I'm sure, as well as my switch to the stack and tilt this season. I get good run with them which helps on my linksy course with lots of open greens, but the higher lofted clubs do tend to get up and stick.
These clubs are pretty, too, with a sole that isn't garishly thick and a topline to match, and only slight offset. They aren't exceedingly light either, despite the graphite shaft, which I like because it lets me know where the clubhead is at all times. If you're looking for game-improvement irons these are a great value, easy to hit, and pretty. I recommend them heartily.
Summary: I'd bought a set of Reg. flex 3dx's on Ebay for $199 - great value! I found that the 3 and 4 hybrids with their strong lofts, are easy to use and hit much longer than the type of distance one would expect from a good 3 or 4-iron. They feel quite heavy and they look more like fairway woods and will give the average golfer a distance which would be closer to their 3 and 4 fairway woods. So, there is a large gap between the 4-hybrid and the 5-iron in this set. However, this gap can be bridged by buying the optional 7-hybrid wood as this will give golfers a distance similar to a standard 7 fairway wood. I'm not quite sure why the irons in the set are called hybrids, as they have fairly narrow soles and large faces. The irons in the set, from the 5-iron down, feel very light compared with the 3 and 4 hybrids and are not as forgiving as other "game improvement" irons. Nickent claim that their tests have shown that the 5-iron is "the longest in the world" - maybe that's true if you make a perfect strike in the middle of the face and this is only because the 5-iron has the loft of a "strong" 4-iron in other sets. However, teir test data did prompt me to try the Adams A2, which came 2nd in their tests.
One point I'd like to mention is that the set I have, was originally fitted with Winn V-17 grips - what lousy grips ! These grips wear out very quickly and also tend to feel too smooth. I got in touch with Nickent and they informed me that they've stopped using Winn and now they use Lamkin gips - a wise decision. I've had similar poor wear and soiling problems with my putters, since Winn appear to have "cornered the market" for putter grips, with their bright colours.
Customer Service: Good response to my e-mails.

Shoots in the 90s
Model Reviewed: 3DX Hybrid Irons graphite stiff
Summary: I shoot in the 80's and 90's (mostly in the 90's now). Anyhow, I picked-up a set of these when I was having trouble with my game after reading reviews of how easy they were to hit. I've tried them a few rounds and a couple of range sessions and they are not easy for me to hit at all. I've played game improvement clubs and "players" cavity backs and these Nickent irons are the most difficult for me to hit. Can't seem to get clean contact on the ball. I do like the 3 and 4 hybrids though.
Summary: First off let me say that I score any where from 87 to 93 on a given day. I play 2-3 times a month, and I dont get out to practice much. the 3dx hybrids are by far the easiest clubs I have ever hit. The distance added from these clubs are as advertised. I solidly hit my seven iron 155-160 on a calm day. I hit my nine iron two days ago 130. With the loft that these clubs generate I was surprised at the distance. I thought that ball was never going to come down. I was sitting 120 from the pin and it was easily ten yards past the hole.
The one thing to remember with these clubs is that you do not have to generate huge SS to get distance. A nice even swing with these will do the job easily. I have yet to really use the hybrids that much, but when I do i find them to be accurate and longer than expected. Twice I have over hit the green from 190 yards. So the hybrids do work well, but I rarely find myself in those situations where I actually need to use them.
I paid 250 dollars from Arizona Golf Exchange. I live in Tucson so I visit them on occasion, but I know they have a high reputation on Ebay also.

Cleveland Launchers. Excellent clubs. I would recommend them to anyone if they could not find the Nickent 3dx.
