Summary:
Great irons. Have been playing some Ping S57 knockoffs for the last few years and wanted something with a bit more forgiveness so I thought I would give these a shot. I couldn't be happier! First round out I shot my lowest round ever, a 77. Although the feedback isn't as pronounced as my previous set the feel when you pure them is great. Definitely can't beat the $199 I payed for them on eBay. If you shoot in the 80s and are looking to get over the hump at a reasonable price I would suggest giving the Ci6s a try.

Summary:
Been playing the Mizuno MX-20 irons with TT Dynalite Gold stiff shafts for the past 3-4 years and decided to give the Ci6's a try based on all of the good feedback and reviews in Golf and Golf Digest. FYI, I'm 57, hit my 7-iron about 160 yds and can hit my driver about 280-285 on reasonably firm fairways.

Got the Ci6 set in the Taper Tech steel stiff shaft. Upon arrival, noticed the grips seemed very small in diameter (I have small hands and wear a Small glove size). The stock grip also seemed very slick to me - I use the GP Tour Velvet grips in the Mizuno's). Immediately had them replaced with Tour Velvet to match the Mizuno's.

Went to the range a couple of times to get the fill of this set and then played my first round with them.

My observations:

Distance - seemed comparable to the MX20's but note that the lofts on my MX20's have been adjusted to about 1/2 a club strong. For whatever reason, the Ci6 PW, 9 and 8 irons seemed to play just a little shorter than the Mizuno's as I was constantly coming up a little short on these shots.

Trajectory - the Ci6 short irons seem to go higher than the MX20's which I didn't like. The Ci6 longer irons had a little higher trajectory than the MX20's which I liked.

Feel - Ci6's had a nice feel but were no where near the feel of the forged MX20's as you might expect. The major feel difference to me was that the Ci6's felt somewhat light and were very easy to pull a shot way left on an aggressive swing. Due to the light feel, I also hit several thin shots as well.

Playability - the Ci6's look very nice at set up and have a nice feel to them. Off center hits seem to have decent forgiveness - more than the MX20's. I could never work the Ci6's - seemed to want to go dead straight even when I was trying to fade or draw a little.

Conclusion - the Ci6's are nice clubs and perhaps over time could work for me. Going from the Mizuno's to these in mid season is just to big of a change. I was looking for a little more forgiveness than the Mizuno's on days when the swing is struggling a little bit. The Ci6's did live up to this expectation but gave up too much for me in the feel and playability areas to warrant a change at this time.

For mid and high cappers the value and performance of the Ci6's make these irons worth considering. For low cappers I don't believe these irons offer any real benefits for you to consider these.

Summary:
These are the most forgiving players irons I have ever played. Great distance (because of the strong lofts), definately need to add a gapwedge to the set. 2 weeks after switching to these clubs I shot 70 and 75 (previous best round was 76).

Summary:
I got these irons for a truly incredible price on ebay, and I just used them for the first time. They were fantastic! Great feedback and feel. Forgiving, and accurate. Didn't notice much of a difference in distance from my previous irons, but that's no big deal for me. I was very impressed, and VERY pleased. A truly fantastic set of irons. I have them with the True Temper Taper Tech steel shafts in R flex. If you're a mid-handicapper looking for a new set. You can get these for a song, and they are as good (maybe better) as anything I've ever hit!!
