Description Targeting those serious players loyal to the look and feel of forged construction, but seeking more playability than a muscle-back, Titleist introduces the Forged 690CB irons in limited quantities.

Summary: I have owned these irons for about 6 months now. They were a bit of a change for me coming from playing tour model blades for so long. These are the first irons I have used since my 3 year break from golf and I have no complaints. They are excellent feeling clubs. If you have never played blades or similar, I wouldn't recommend these irons for you.
Summary: I own a set of white dot Ping Eye2's that are set up for me (I am 6' 5") and these Titleists came up for $150 on craigslist and I bought them.
First of all, they are ridiculously long clubs. They have me flicking a 5 iron 200 yards and you can't feel the ball hit the face. I think their extra weight compared to the Pings helps keep my swing in plane. It takes no effort to get the ball so far, it has changed the entire approach to golf since I can't decide where I would ever need a 5-wood, 3-wood or anything except maybe the 4-iron down.
These clubs are heavy, stiff and if you are strong like I am, about as good a feeling as you can get out of hitting a golf ball. Mine are +.5" and not fitted to me yet, but I'm going to head out and do so soon. It takes balls to switch off of a set of Eye2s that fit perfectly, but I am about ready.

Summary: Great irons. I shot mid 80's, but these irons are amazing. they are not very forgiving, but wow, you can shape shots with these irons like crazy! the long irons are actually quite easy to hit as well.
my only complaints are with the 9 and PW. they feel bulky and are tough to hit.
Customer Service: great. i use golfsmith, and they fit me perfectly for them. and i have yet to have a problem with the clubs.
the only problem is price, but hey, any good club is going to cost money.

Summary: I switched to the 690's about 3.5 years ago after playing with Ping Eye 2's for about 8 years. I was looking for a club that would provide more feedback and had a heavier head weight. I am completely thrilled with the Titleists. Mis-hits aren't as forgiving as the Pings, but that is to be expected. They have a great look at address and provide a smooth, mid-trajectory ball flight. These definitely aren't game improvement clubs so I would recommend them to single digit handicappers.

Summary: What a great set of clubs! Sweet feeling, good looking and set up well. They make me want to practice even harder. I've just ditched a set of Ping ISI's and gone back to forged clubs after two weeks. The Pings were easy to hit, very straight but not as fun to hit. I'm hitting these longer and sweeter than a tall piece of sugar candy.
