Tour Edge Bazooka J-Max 3-wood

Summary:
'We don't need no stinking driver!'

For the longest time I was looking for a 3-wood that I could use off the tee at the course our company league plays. The course has narrow fairways and places a premium on accuracy. Target golf at it's worst. I tried a number of different fairway woods and even low-lofted hybrids, but could not find one that worked consistently for me.

The Tour Edge Bazooka J-Max 3-wood has changed all that. Its 200cc head is big enough to instill confidence off the tee. (I have no desire to ever try hitting this off the deck.) With 15* of loft the ball usually goes right where I'm aiming (no more curve balls). The fact that the head is titanium means it has plenty of pop. The stock Reactive Flex graphite shaft works fine for me. When I really catch a hold of one, I can hit this 3-wood almost as far as I hit my driver!

This club has been a tremendous confidence builder. (I now leave the driver at home when I play in the league.) My scores will definitely come down as soon as I can improve my short game!

Bazooka J-Max QL, 3-wood

Summary:
My second summer golfing, this year, I decided to buy a new 3-wood, as the one that came with the Ram Rythm set was starting to fall apart. At $120, it seemed a good deal, and after a session in the store's cage, I was enthusiastic to get it out on the links.
The Bazooka J-max QL, on the course works well. It has tungsten plugs in the sole to help pull the face closed on impact, and it really helped eliminate the right-to-right slice. The club gives a confident crack at impact, a high-launch takeoff, and I noticed a little less sidespin.
I also noticed a little less distance, 10-15 yards shorter, than the Ram 3-wood. But, I hit 4 fairways with this club (my neighbor and I play 9 holes), when I usually struggle to hit 1 or 2 with the old 3-wood. It's satisfying to put all 3 balls back in the sleeve after a round, not having boomeranged them into the weeds or O.B. to be forever lost.
The QL 3-wood is 15 degrees loft, and I'd be interested in a driver version of this club. Maybe for Christmas.
