Summary:
Don't pay $100s or even $50 more until you've tried this club. This club reduced backspin, sidespin, carried further, and released further than the G5 and Callaway X460 I hit on a launch monitor the same day.

Big Bertha Ti 454

Summary:
I've had this club 4 years now. I have it equipped with the Graffaloy Prolaunch Blue (mid-high kickpoint). The driver is 8* and I had the shaft +2" from standard. Needless to say, my drives are bullets!! I've always been fond of Callaway woods. It may just be me, but I've noticed if I "get on this driver" I have a tendancy to hook it. But with the longer and stiff shaft, I don't get on it very often, no need to. It took me some time and experimentation to arrive at the configuration of my driver, but I don't know if I could be pleased any better with something else. This club is not the easiest to work, I can draw and fade, but I have hit others that are easier. But this club is loooooong and straight. It sounds good off the tee and the feedback with the upgraded shaft is remarkable. I have a lot of confidence in this club and usually the longest off the tee in my group. The set up on this driver is to keep the ball looow. So, in my case, it is important to hit it in the screws. This club makes it easy to do this. I have the newer Callaway 460 3 wood and I absolutey love this club so much so, that I have considered hitting the 460 driver. But I think that I will playing my 454 for some time. Wonderful club.

Customer Service:
My experience with Callaway customer service has been nothing but fantastic. Back their products professionally.

Big Bertha 454

Summary:
I am not long off the tee. Averaging about 220 yds though I have golfing for the last 10 years. Spent most of my life growing up playing soccer and non of the other sports that develop arm muscles. So when my BB 454 (9 deg) gave me 250 yds (include row), I think I have found my golfing soulmate. With this driver, it is definitely easier to get onto those 400+ par 4's in regulation. My normal ball flight is a draw but this driver when I swing it too hard will give me a fade. So swing easy and don't try to kill it. So happy with this driver that I went out to GolfTown in the recent Boxing Day sale and bought myself another BB 454 (this time 10 deg light shaft) as a back up driver.

Customer Service:
Never used but GolfTown is generally very good.

callaway big bertha 454

Summary:
Picked one up on Ebay with a stiff Prolaunch for $60 in mint condition. It arrived with a JUMBO sized grip which I intended to replace. Ended up taking it to play a couple of days later and HAMMERED the ball with it. I was playing a Hibore with the same shaft and a Launcher with the same Prolaunch shaft before that and could not hit them to save my life (I was taking lessons every week). A friend of mine told me that the JUMBO sized grip took a lot of "wrist" out of my swing, therefore allowing me to hit the ball well. To make a long story short, this club is now a favorite of mine. Yesterday I stood on a par 5 tee at RTJ in Greenville Alabama, dropped 15-20 balls and launched all them down the fairway. Just a simple driver with no gimmics purchased at a great price outdring the $300 friends. I even began to shape to ball later that day at the range. A very good buy for the money.
