Nvg2 10.5

Summary:
NVG2 10.5 one with stock fujikura quadraflex stiff and one with Macgregor Speeder reg flex...both are 60 gm shafts with similar torque...both play firm.

This club was a very pleasent surprise. I have tried many different sticks including, Cobra speed pro S, Ping G2 10*, G5 9.5* and G10...the NVG2 10.5 was longer and straighter than all by a substancial margin. Club head sets up about a degree closed with face progression (opposite of offset) so the two seem cancel each other out...looks a little strange at first at address...but it's the results that count and the NVG2 10.5 is an over acheiver and confidence bbuilder. Longer and straighter than any driver I have hit and the shaft feels nice too. At demo days, I was hitting mine a good 20 yars farther than the Ping G10 of the same loft with a Prolaunch red stiff shaft. The Ping G10 (standard, not draw version) had a tendency to hook for me...but even the longest balls hit pure were far short of the NVG2 10.5...this club has a very hot face...but it's the club's uncanny ability to turn over and hit straight that I love most

NVG2 10.5

Summary:
had the NVG2 Tour with 55g NVS S flex... nice stick, but just something missing in control. Too light of a shaft, I guess... Traded for a non tour 10.5 with an S flex V2. I noticed that many of the long drivers at the remax had the V2 shaft, and they can use anything they want... It is a great shaft. That did the trick. Hard not to hit it straight. Ball flight is low for a 10.5*, but that maybe is my swing. Great sound, and VERY long. But the best thing by far is the control, the ease of keeping it in the fairway. Picked up in 8.5/10 on Ebay for $40 plus S/H. A steal. This driver is in the bag, and I have tried most everything. Much better IMO than the TM burner, the G5, the Cleveland Comp, the 9805T and R. Beats all of the r7 and r5 stuff too. Try to get past the tech look on the sole, and the low price tag... it is a straight hitting beast.

MacTec NVG 435

Summary:
Picked this up used at Roger Dunn for thirty bucks. I have been using the Cleveland Launcher Comp which I have been happy with. The NVG though about 20 yards shorter is much more accurate. I occasionally hit hooks with my Cleveland, but no hooks in 5 rounds so far with NVG. Both clubs have reg shafts and 10.5 degrees loft. I hit 12 of 14 fairways yesterday en route to a 78, first time breaking 80 in about 3 years! I hit this club dead straight or with a slight fade for about 240-250 yards. Average is abouut 260-270 with the other club. No idea why, just seems the shaft is a touch firmer than the stock Fujikura. Any ideas?

Summary:
When I hit it, I can't feel it and it goes long and where I want it. When I mis hit it, I feel it but it still goes where I want it just not as long. My mates can't tell a solid it from a mis hit.

MacTec NVG

Summary:
What a club. I finally upgraded to a titanium head after years of playing steel, and although this took about 2 rounds to work out the kinks...I would reccommend this club to anyone. VERY forgiving, and although I still tend to slcie the ball, this is more a product of poor swing mechanics than the club. There is not a club out there that will "guarantee" straight shots if you don't strike the ball well. I have always been a long ball hitter, and once I figured out the right tempo, I am hitting the ball 30-35 yards farther than I ever had before. Great investment (I found mine that was hardly used on Ebay for $60.)
