Nike One Black

Summary:
I played the older Nike One Black the other day and really liked it. The newer ones say one+black, this was just oneblack on the side. The ball was very long. I also nailed a tree with one and the ball only had a brown mark and was undamaged! As with the Nike Platinum, if I went to crush it I was doing the Tiger and spraying it right, but it still went a mile. The newer balls out there seem to fight the slice better and stay straight, probably because of spin, cover, dimple pattern, whatever. What I liked most about this ball though is it's a joy to putt. Nice and soft off the putter face, yet durable. A rare combination these days. I look forward to trying the newer versions out, but not at $40/dozen, unless a sample makes me a believer. There are too many great 3 piece balls off there now for under $30/dozen. If I want to break the bank for a ball, it's going to be a Bridgestone B330S, or a ProV1, I know I love those two. All and all, a very nice ball to play a round with.

Nike One Black 2007 Version

Summary:
I had high hopes for this ball and wanted to like it; as it was rated #1 (tied with the Nike Powersoft) in last year's Consumer Report for best ball. I had heard the 07 version was softer than the previous versions, and since I put a premium on softness, I bought a sleeve of the 07 to try.
While it is basically a fine ball, it was also unremarkable in pretty well every area. Spin, average, distance good, but not above my other balls I play, trajectory: great. It also had more spin off my long irons and driver than my gamer, the V1!

All in all, I will give it, becuase of it's price, about a 3.5 out of 5. If I was going to switch to a longer, harder ball, I would go with the Taylormade Black that is harder than the NOB, but longer, and better spin!

Taylormade Red and Black, Pro V1, Nike Powersoft, Bridgestone e5 and e6, etc., etc., etc.

Summary:
I got them on sell for 24.99, i would say it play like Pro V1x, because it is harder and play lower then Pro V1. But i have problem about the skin of the ball, i am not a hard hitter by any means, but after a god wedge shot the skin are damaged. Just wondering if you guys out there experienced the same.

Nike One Black

Summary:
Recently I found 2006 version is closing out and can be found 24.99 at golfsmith. Decided to give a try and returned me a strage round of golf.

I usually use callaway HX hot or ProV which give me predictable distance to do right calculation. One black seems to be shorter in driving distance but longer iron distance for my swing compare to ProV. In my regular course which has multi-tier green, shooting in wrong level means an automatically 3 putt. So I posted my worst score with One black because of no distance control at all.

Overal the ball feels harder then ProV. Green side spin is medium. putting is true but feels harder(about same as HX HOT).

I dont want to say this ball is good or bad but I think this ball has very different charateristics compares to proV and HX HOT. Do some practice to predict the ball flight and distance. Otherwise, switch to this ball may go crazy.

With close out price, can be a good deal. But I think I will walk away and back to ProV.
