Titanium 3,5-wood

Summary:
This has to be one of the best values in fairway woods right now. They can be had for very cheap and I am sure still outperform many steel fairway/hybrid clubs. The ball really flies of the titanium clubface with a mid/high trajectory. The ball goes straight and far if struck halfway decent and sometimes spins so little that it flies with that knuckleball characteristic. I like this because I am looking for very little spin. Once I find time to practice enough to keep the ball in play reasonably well, only then will I start worry about working it.

I don't know why manufacturers moved away from titanium fairway woods to steel. I got the 3-wood first then 5-wood to replace a 2-iron which I only used from tee.

As eluded to before, 3-wood is awesome from tee. I have 90-95 swing speed with driver, and I can sometimes carry it over 240 yards if lucky. Very straight, very long compared to other clubs I have played. And even with only getting out once per week, I can get a decent shot with the 3-wood from fairway once in a while.

5-wood is very easy from fairway and not too bad from rough. For most balls in rough I find it better for my score to lay up anyways, unless I get lucky and it is fluffed up. To those concerned about close proximity of loft to 3-wood, don't forget 3-wood is longer shaft and larger head.

Lastly, concering hybrids I have an Adams Idea 3-hybrid and I have doubts I could hit a 2-hybrid as well/far as the 5-wood.

Big Bertha Titanium 3 Wood

Summary:
Likes: Fairway Wood or Mini Driver (no, not the actress)? That's basically what I think of when I pull this bad boy out of the golf bag. The face of this 3 Wood is huge compared to other 3 Woods like the Taylor Made V-Steel or even the Big Bertha 2004. Also, while the face seems larger, it is a very forgiving Fairway Wood, probably the most forgiving that I have used. Shots off the Toe or the Heel of the club still have some nice distance and are relatively straight. While, this is not my finding, one of my more accomplished golfing friends made the observation that while this club is silly in it's forgiveness, it's very difficult to work a draw or fade on unlike the Big Bertha '04 Fairway Woods or the TM V-Steel. The Stock Shaft, RCH 75w, which I believe is basically an Aldila NV 75 shaft is very nice. I have a slower swing speed (never actually had it monitored) so the Regular Flex fits me perfect.

Dislikes: The Grips. The grips on Callaway Products are love 'em or Hate 'em. I personally hate 'em.

Summary: I love this club and I am looking to purchase the matching 5 Wood. While it is more expensive than alot of the other Fairway Woods that the other companies are offering, I think this club is worth every penny. Off the tee this 3 Wood is a monster and is so forgiving it has probably saved me over 20 strokes with hits off the toe that actually went straight instead of popping up or slicing into the woods.

Customer Service:
As with basically anything Callaway, the quality is top notch. No inperfections or blemishes on the club, well, atleast before I used it.
