Ti 460

Summary:
I bought the Ti 460 just to go play with over the weekend as a temporary club until I got my other driver back while its being reshafted. I took it to the range and hit a few balls to get the feel of it. I was impressed, yeah the off set looks odd but I havent hit straight down middle 20 out of 25 times dead on and consistant in a while. This club stays in the bag, but so will my Callaway.

Ti 460 Offset

Summary:
Long time Cleveland fan, so bought a used 460 Ti Offset reg flex driver. Took it to the range and sprayed balls all over. Took my old stand by Cleveland Sport 410 out of the bag and right down the middle very shot. Dont know if it was the club (most likely me)any how listed 460 on ebay and sold it. Hope the new owner likes it better and hits it straighter. I will stick with my 410, I know how it does.

Cleveland Launcher 460Ti Offset

Summary:
I tested this on the driving range with a Launcher Comp 460 9 of 17 shots sliced with the launcher comp and only 5 of 17 sliced with the Launcher Offset Model. 2nd trip to the range resulted in 10 of 12 shots dead straight with the Comp version only 7 of 12 straight. Can't wait to play 18 holes with this in the bag.

Cleveland Launcher Ti 460 Offset

Summary:
This is the 9.5 with reg flex. I bought it used (but like new)on a 7 day return, and am I glad I did. My swing is pretty consistent at 85 mph and the shape is too so I find it quite easy to compare driver performances. I have played three rounds with it. On the last round I borrowed a non offset Ping G5 10.5 reg Grafaloy. As the course was very quiet I played several holes teeing off with two balls one with the Ti and the other with the G5. Well, simple fact is the G5 was 40 yards further and straighter. The Ti often 'hooked' so be wary of an offset if you have a slight fade as it probably over corrects much of the time.

11.5 deg (offset) Launcher Ti 460

Summary:
Offsetting a clubface is certainly nothing new and for many is the quick slice fix we're looking for. Forget shifting weights for now, as these *can* promote a nice draw when placed in well practiced hands, but we're talking about a slice fix here.

Getting back to business… This club combines the "lesson-free" convenience of an offset face with a very solid feeling titanium 460cc head. It is then married to a high launching (i.e. low kick point), lightweight (55g) stock shaft to give one of the best no-nonsense high handicapper drivers currently available (I assume we're talking at a slicer to slicer level here).

By the way, I've never liked the look of any offset club because of the "bent" clubface. This is not different, but I have seen worse (eg Cobra M-Speed - great club too but too much offset for me). The head cover is rather cool though and has that straight out of college look to it, which serves well to cover that ‘ugly’ clubface. What's even better is that the cover doesn't advertise you're playing an offset driver.

For me, this driver feels at home with its club head feeling more like 350-380cc rather than its actual 460cc. There are very few drivers out there that give the benefits of the large club head without the trade off of feeling like a beer can. I assume Cleveland have done their aerodynamics homework here. The sound at impact is sweet on a large proportion of the clubface with a forgivingly rewarding return of distance. I don’t think the face is particularly hot and like most drivers this season, just within the 0.83 COR limit. This isn’t about 300 yard bombs, more about straight shooting, consistent tee shots that sound sweet. All this for an ugly clubface – I’m ok with that.

My only gripe is that the launch angle is a little high so there’s a good degree of distance loss when shooting upwind. Nothing a little teeing down won’t help fix, but it’s one more thing to consider. Keep in mind my set up is 11.5deg (reg flex) and the stock shaft is high launching – not everyone’s cup of tea, but will suit many natural slicers with a controlled swing. Personally, I quite like the stock shaft and although a little high, it adds to the entertainment factor. For me, this is my ‘fun driver’ – easy to hit, high launch, sweet sounding and slice fixing all in one. As the season progresses, I am now starting to strengthen my “anti-slice muscles” and moving back to my ‘normal’ driver (Mizuno MP-001 460).

So if you’ve read this far, I assume you’re still interested. As always, try before you buy and these days, there’s no excuse for not getting onto a launch monitor. Compare against the Cobra M-Speed and while you’re at it, try something like the TaylorMade r7 460 for a comparison of movable weights and offset. Happy golfing!
