Taylor Made R7 460 Summary:
I played most of this season with this driver, set up with the weights neutral. It came with the REAX shaft - stiff. I never felt confident with it. I seemed to spray more balls than with my old TM R540XD with the Aldila NV65 shaft (stiff also).
About three weeks ago, I put the Aldila shaft in the R7. At the range, I hit it great - long, straight and nice launch angle (9.5 loft btw). I have only played nine holes with it so far. Missed one fairway due to a bad swing. Hit the other five right where I wanted to.... a long high fade on a left to right par five, a high draw to carry a fairway bunker on a right to left par 4, a controlled fade on a tight par 4, etc. I'm not a huge hitter anymore and I do play at 5600 feet above sea level, but I was getting it out there between 250 and 275.
This is a great club now that I've got the right shaft (for me anyway) in it. I guess the lesson to be learned is that the wrong shaft can make a great driver just okay - or maybe even unacceptable. Customer Service:

Taylor Made R7 460 driver Summary:
I have owned this driver for two months now and am very happy with it. I have played about 12 rounds with it and have had it out to the driving range a least that many times. I did have to spend some time with it to get the ball flight I wanted. I typically play a fade off the tee with a low to med. trajectory. The first few times I was loosing balls to the left, a first for me and the flight was too high. I fixed this by not having the ball so far forward in my stance and lowering my tee height. Bingo it now goes straight down the middle of the fairway. Don't be afraid to adjust your set up if you are having troble with a new club. This driver is the most forgiving club I have hit, heel and toe shots are still in play with good distance. I am hitting this 15 + yards longer than my old Clevland Launcher, 250-260 avg. with a number of them 280-290 when I flush it. It's nice to hear your buddies say you are driving the ball better than every. Give this driver a try. Customer Service:

Taylor Made R7 460 Summary:
I have played primarily with Titleist drivers. 905T and last eight months with the 905R with the Aldila NV stiff. Age and injury forced me to consider a regular shaft. I had tried Taylor Made drivers in the past and wasn't impressed. I borrowed one and was surprised with the results. So I bought an R7 460 (10.5) with a Grafalloy Blue regular shaft and have been very pleased. The ball wants to go straight. The flight is a little high, but I have been able to lower it with a little effort, and still hit fairways. It just feels easy to hit. Maybe the shaft. I have had the same experience as some of the other reviews in noticing a small loss in distance, but it is worth it for the increased number of fairways I'm hitting. Only wish I had been able to find the club and shaft combo in a 9.5 loft. Customer Service:

Ping G5 Fairway Wood (3 Wood) Summary:
Hi there,
I'm 15 years old and play ALOT of golf , i was pretty happy with my long game but wanted to take it to the next level (i basically needed a reliable forgiving wood to reach par 5's in 2 and to tee off on short par 4's) So i bought a 'Ping G5' 3 wood with a regular prolaunch graphite shaft and well all i can say is W0W! This club has really improved my game not just the gameplay but my confidence too , I am now reaching my par 5's in 2 shots consistently along with nearly reaching the short par 4's in one!I highly recommend this club to all golfers looking to invest on a forgiving wood because this certainly does the job!!! I just bought the TM R7 460 and it is awesome. I had been away from the game for a while. A shoulder injury caused a long layoff, then when I came back, all my distance was gone and the game was no fun. A freind introduced me to this driver. I bought my own and took it to the range. After a few nervous mis-hits (and fear that I had just wasted some money), I started hitting it great. I was consitently hitting the ball 250-275 yds, straight. I took it from the range to the cousre where I hit it long and hit 10 fairways. I was able to reach 3 of the par 5s in two and was usually no more that a PW out on the par 4s. Bottom line -this club is wonderful and has gotten me excited about golf again!
