Cleveland CG Golf Irons

Summary:
I had played Cleveland TA-6's for four years and decided it was time to replace them as they were showing signs of wear. Thought I'd try a different brand. Bought the Ping G10's, and while they are a good club for a player who sweeps the ball of a lush lie, I found the wide soles caused me to chunk way too many long irons. Traded them in on Titleist AP-1's with same result, due to wide soles. Tried Mizuno MX-25's and they just seemed like boards, in spite of going to Nippon steel regular flex shafts. So, I decided to go back to Cleveland. To me, the CG Gold is very similar to the old TA-6's, except just slightly more compact. Specs. on the Golds are regular steel stock (flighted) shafts, 2 degrees up and one inch long, as I am 6'4".
For me, these have just the right blend of forgiveness and classic appearance. I have been in the 70's and a few rounds in the lo-80's with these sticks.
I hit a six iron 165 - 170 but went with the regular shafts, as my regular stiff shafts seemed too harsh - - - could have something to do with being in my early 60's, I hat to admit. These shafts and irons have just the right feel for me, and I can work the ball either way with them.
I couldn't be more pleased by having gone back to the Cleveland camp.

Summary:
I have had these irons for just a few weeks. I, stupid as I am, bought these because they looked great and I read some pretty nice things about these irons. But not for me, unfortunately.
They don't give me the right feedback, don't give me the right feeling, don't give me the right noise, etc.
I went back to my "old" R7 XD's and things were going super again....

CG Gold Combo set

Summary:
Up until recently, I was a die-hard Adams man. Then I tried the CG Golds and was sold. I Love the feedback this sticks give you and they have improved my game as they are less forgiving than the A3Os set I used to play. That sounds strange but it has forced me to really try and fix flaws in my swing as opposed to letting the club compensate for my bad habits. As such my game has improved as my swing mechanics and grip have improved. Also I am getting more distance from these than the A3s, probably because they are lighter and in typical Cleveland fashion, the feel is very buttery when you hit it just right! I'm not good enough where I need to work the ball but these are workable to a degree (so I am told). To be sure, I hit several irons before purchase: Callaway,Cobra,Nike,Ping,Mizuno,Cleveland, I kept coming back to the CG Golds and that secured my decision. I was so pleased that after my first round with them I called the shop where I bought them to tell them how happy I was with them

Cleveland CG Gold Irons

Summary:
I am by no means an accomplished Golfer, but the CG Gold Irons make it easy to forget that fact. They are an amazing and well made set of clubs. The first day I played with these Irons I shot my best score ever. In fact I shot a 42 on the front 9, parring 4 holes and bogeying 5. I fell apart on the back 9 but blame that more on fatigue and lack of experience than the clubs. Would recommend these to any mid to high handicap golfer looking for a great set of irons.
