Summary: I always try Cobra drivers because I want to like them. Their models are always long off the tee and fun to hit but they are often hard to control. I bought the deep face pro series after trying it on the range and love it. The ball rockets off the face on a high trajectory with little spin. Just seems to carry forever. My misses are a baby draw while most go pretty straight. The face is square according to Cobra but if you compare it to a Titleist 905R, a Taylor Made TP model or a Callaway tour model the head appears to be closed about one degree. But no problems hooking it. I play a 10.5 degree for control and love the stock Fujikura in X-Flex. Warning> I let my friends try this club. They generally swing under 105 mph and they all tended to balloon this shaft. I swing over 118mph and it works perfectly for me. My local pro tried it with a swing speed of around 110 and he hit it fine as well. So 110mph might be needed to handle extra-stiff flex in their stock shaft. The sound of the Cobra is somehwhat loud but not bad. Not as loud as the Nike Sumo's but not as muted as a Titleist. This club is long and will run out in the fairway as well. I launch this 10.5 head two degrees higher than other companies 10.5 heads which is fine with me. The head is a beast for sure but find the right shaft. Most of the touring pros who play this are putting in the Diamana 83X shaft. I could see how the wrong shaft would make this club balloon and rob you of distance. With the right shaft you will struggle to find anything longer or even straighter. I believe the MOI on the deep face is 5000 but not sure. Price is good. I found this to be a much better club than the Callaway Fti tour which is twice as much...

Summary: This is as good as it gets. Through Demo Days and Golfsmith, I went through at least 10 drivers. Some were appealing; some were too expensive; and some just short of performance par offer by other new technology in drivers out there.
Who is this driver for: [ANYONE]. However, for those with lower handicap can benefit more with the workability this driver offers. (Wait, if you hate to get attention for your drives, don't get this ... read more to find out why)
The PROs:
-> The face is slightly from square to open at address. This allow you to work the ball in the proper way and more consistent, just how you would with your iron. I'm no advance player, but I can work baby draw, high draw, or heel fade consistently.
-> Shallow Club Face. Seriously, How much more club-face surface area to hit a ball? I find other drivers in Cobra Line (and some other brands) has it too DEEP. Result: bulky, not appealing, funky looking = swinging a rock attached to a stick.
-> Very Forgiving Yet Long. It's not the longest driver out there, but it's certainly belong to the long catagory: TaylorMade R7, Titleist 905R. It's like getting the workability of the 905R and the forgiveness of the New TaylorMade Burner and some (70%) feedback from TaylorMade R7 425 smash into one COBRA PRO S.
-> On Sweet-Spot: this driver screams the loudest (It's just funny when you turn people head on driving range)
-> Design Color is awesome and has many "show-off" edges to it, but rightfully so.
-> Affordable price on EBAY for a mint condition.
-> Stock Shaft is good enough for any avid golfer.
The CONs:
-> Doesn't have the awesome feedback like the Taylor Made R7 425 or R5 TP or other tour quality drivers (Maybe it's the shaft I'm using Speeder Pro Stiff). I have to learn to trust this driver a lot before put it in my bag.
-> On a bad shot, this driver sounds badddd (no really bad) ... LOL ... like some metal being cracked in half by a powerful force. This doesn't look good as you see your drive went 30 yards and everyone on the range turn their head looking at you.
The GAINs: Since I have this driver in my bag, I have seen more fairway than I even had. I have extreme confidently in my drive, which enable me to free myself from straight shots and choose other possible shot (fade, draw, etc.) to fit the course layout and distance control. Also, I can still match up with peeps who are 5 inches taller on drives off the tee.

Summary: The Speed Pro S is the best driver I have ever seen from Cobra. I used to have the X-Speed 8.5 with a stock Aldila Stiff shaft, the ball went every where. Now with The Speed Pro, the Speeder X-stiff shaft is amazing. I now hit a nice high draw with the 9.5 degree head. The one thing is that I have lost about 5 yards with the Speed Pro. But I will take a loss of five yards for a consistant ball flight every shot. This club sets up great with a square face angle. It is an all around a great golf club.
Customer Service: I bought it at the PGA Tour Superstore the best service I have had from any retail store.

Tried both the 8.5 and 9.5 lofted drivers, Fujikura Speeder Stiff flex. Both extremely easy to hit. (I was caught by surprise!) I have an average swing speed and have been told to only hit high loft regular flex clubs. Hence I have gone through 10+ drivers in the last three years, only purchasing 9.5 to 10.5 lofts in regular flex and both accuracy and distance were poor.
I had enough and said what the heck, defy what I should be fitted with and go with a "Tour" spec club.
This club is beautiful to look at in address position. I love the way it sits Neutral to open (instead of the closed face I've experienced from the last 10 drivers).
You would think a slice would be the order of the day. Not a chance, lovely ball flight, even with the 8.5 loft and holy moley best carry I have ever achieved.
On top of this extra distance I've gained from this club, it is extremely forgiving.
So in summary, it is long, straight and beautiful to look at....what more could you want?
p.s. I do not work for Cobra, I thought the F Speed LD was useless. Poor distance and I did not notice any increase in accuracy.

I my opinion here how these clubs rated....apologies to those I offend just giving my opinion and rating of how I faired with these clubs.
Summary: I'm a big fan of the Cobra Driver Series, been playing with the 440 SZ, 9 degree with the YS stiff shaft, and thought that it was the driver best suited for me, then they bring out the Speed Pro models, either S for the shallow face or D for the deeper faced model.
I looked at the clubs and just loved the slightly open face at address, coupled with the brilliant design I couldn't resist and bought one.
I chose the S 9.5 degree with a Fujikura Speeder stiff shaft and got to tell you its a magnificent piece of equipment, not massivly longer than the SZ 440 but arrow straight with a more positive feel off the club face.
Apart from the look and feel of the club, the amount of confidence it gives you on the tee is what sets it apart for me, i've rarely felt capable of hitting the fairway every time I hit driver but this club does it for me.
I decided to change when I was hitting my previous driver quite well and I'm not disappointed, I tried various other drivers along with the Cobra, namely the TM Burner, and a Titleist 905R.
The Burner set up didn't suit me, the toe in at address made me feel that every shot would go well left, the Titleist went ok, quite straight but a lack of feel from the clubhead meant it wasn't for me.
In conclusion, the Cobra is my stick of choice until the next best thing comes along, I can highly recommend this club to you all, give it a go and see if you get the same heady feeling I get every time I pull it from the bag.
