Looks great at address. The contrast between black the teardrop head and white Fubuki shaft is stellar. Slightly open at address. I had great difficulty not pushing the ball right. No matter where I placed the ball in my stance, the driver pushed the shot right, sometimes a straight block, other times side spin fade. I suspect the shaft is the issue. I used a stiff shaft and generally that has been fine with irons and hybrids. However, I have been using a TM 580 XD with an R7 Regular shaft in it. So I may not be swinging fast enough to release the club. I tried inside the ball moves, I tried speeding up my swing speed, and I moved the weights all over the place in the FastTrack system. Alas, I could not stop the ball wanting to go to the right. I had a similar issue with the older Mizuno Blue Rage drivers (Acce shaft in stiff). I am thinking I need to consider regular shafts for future drivers. The sound of the ball strike is a muted whack - dull sounding and not the ting I am used to with the Taylormade. I expected more from the club, honestly. I thought I'd be able to achieve a ball flight that would allow a slight draw. I never got close. Additionally, the MP 600 driver is not as long as my TM 580 XD. It's a good 20 yards shorter actually.

I have the weights in 2/3 setting for baby draw and it works like a dream. not a very deep face but that is fine. still get very good results. I shoot in the mid 80's to low 90's but my tee ball is one of the best parts of my game. Three words for this driver are solid, solid, solid. I moved from a Cobra LD-F to a Cleveland HiBore XL to this Mizuno. I was really looking at the Titleist drivers, but at $139 on *bay, this Mizuno is unbeatable (and felt better too.)

Plenty forgiving, a more boring ball flight and the sound is a solid "thwack". The movable weights do work. I'm driving the ball better and further than ever. What's not to love.

This is more of a players driver so pay attention to the shaft and loft. It wants to hit a bit lower than the game-improvement sticks.

My level of play is better than scratch but I didn't see that option so I simply chose "scratch golfer". I only play with fellow scratch golfers. I find it unbearable to play with anyone above a 2 handicap. I have no time for the nonsense that goes along with playing the game in an abominable fashion. Let the masses hear me say "take lessons!". I find it offensive to play along with a chap that chops sod while swinging. The bloke belongs in the meat wagon dare I say. This driver is just so-so. I deem it akin to a meatloaf sanwhich...lots of lard but no real meat. It is beneath me to play such a club. Carry on.

Model Reviewed: Mizuno MP 600 Driver

This is a driver that I arrived at via a Cobra, a Ping, a Cleveland Hi-Bore and a Taylormade Burner, all of which failed to give what the Mizuno has bags of ... control. Although I am still capable of some eccentric shots when trying to slap the cover off the ball, in the main this is driver which rewards good timing and a steady swing. It sounds great, looks great at address and the weights can make a difference, particularly in terms of keeping the ball low into brisk winds. It feels to me to be a good, solid club so you need a decent swing speed to get the most out of it but with a stiff shaft and a big grip, this has proved to be the driver I have been looking for!

First of all, let me say this club is very well made. I know this is kind of personal, but the clubhead shape and size is perfect for me... not bulky bullet shaped aerodynamics, nor weird dented crown (like cobra's or cleveland hi-bore's). Just very classic. I bought this club at a very fair price (120 US$ used), and the clubhead was in mint condition. At first I was having problems with the grip (golf pride m-21) that felt way too thick for me. I've read on forums that many people think the same about this grip (maybe it is designed for thinner butt shafts). Morover I have small hands, so a tendency to fade the ball increased to a slice that was driving me crazy. Clearly I was not "releasing" enough before impact because of this. So I switched to a thiner Taylor Made Grip (plus some corrections to my backswing), and problems are totally gone. Now I'm able to hit dead straight, or with a mild draw. The Fujikura shaft is very stable, and I'm not afraid to hit it harder, like with my previous driver. Raw distance is not really important for me (since I really need accuracy to improve my game), but with a 95 to 105 mph swing I'm able to fly the ball to some respectable 260 - 290 yards. I have not played a lot with the weights, because I'm not interested in correcting sidespin, but I would like to try other "neutral" setups in the future, specially 1-6 to decrease backspin (very valuable in windy conditions). One last thing: I also tried this driver with the stock Mizuno shaft, which is lighter, and I was able to hit it a little longer, but not as consistent as with the fuji shaft. This club will be in my bag for a long time (probably until mizuno releases something newer).

Model Reviewed: MP-600 - Fujikura Fit On 360 Stiff

Like a previous reviewer said, the best way to describe this driver is Accuracy. I first tried a demo with the DS3 shaft, which was nice, but the fuji shaft was more stable for me (7 grams heavier, and a tad stiffer, so I'm able to feel the club in the backswing).

Untill now, I was using a Taylor Made 580XD, which has a very similar clubhead. I know I'm comparing with 5 years old technology, but if I hit the 580XD with a good swing I can beat my friends drives by a fair margin (all of them with fancy new technologies from Cobra, Titleist, Ping...) My problem with the 580XD is that if I overswing, I will either cut the ball badly or end up with a snaky hook. Well with the MP600, no problems so far. Of course this driver will not save me from the rough with a bad swing, but the disperssion pattern is a lot tighter than anything previously tested.

The club face deserves a special mention. The sound is just PERFECT when you hit it on the spot. It also feels dense. Like crushing an egg with a shell thicker than normal. It begs for some extra energy, otherwise the COR doesn't show up as easily as in other new drivers I have tried. For this reason, I don't think this club is for any golfer with a swingspeed under 90, unless the shaft would help in this regard.

I haven't played with the weights yet. Actually I will try not to use it to correct sidespin (personally I find that dangerous for my swing), but only to lower or higher the trayectory (looking forward to use it under windy conditions).

The bottom line... HIGHLY RECOMENDED !!!

Model Reviewed: MP-600 10.5* w/ Accra T50 M4

I'm 55, a 12 hcp with 95mph driver swing speed, 6'2 and more of a swinger than a hitter. I'm partial to Mizuno, having played a MP-001 (400cc) for three seasons. Great feel, excellent sound and control. This season I upgraded to an MP-600 and like the results. Even with the Fuji 360 stiff, the impact was more solid and the ball carried a little further than the old driver. Oh, I also tried a MacGregor with a nice NVS stiff shaft, and though I liked the shaft and had decent results, the sound was thin and the control not as good as with the Miz.

Anyway, when I traded for a lighter shaft (Accra T-50, M4, which is stiff, but has a lively tip) all the pieces came together. Though I enjoyed experimenting with the adjustable weights, I can control it well when playing 1-6, which is the lowest trajectory, neutral. It allows me a little more freedom to shape the flight to minimize trouble. The sound is muted, the feel is solid, almost dense - just a very VERY satisfying result for a traditionalist. If you want/like/need a monster head with a metallic sound, this is not for you. If you prefer an old-fashioned look/sound/feel with new technology to boost distance and allow tweaking, then you absolutely MUST give this club a serious trial.

First Mizuno driver I've ever played. I switched out of a TM 425TP to play the MP-600 and haven't looked back. Not the longest driver out there but my accuracy and consistancy has improved significantly.
I play the Fuji 360 shaft. Great shaft that loads well for my smooth tempo 105 swing speed. After 10 rounds I'm averaging 10/14 fairways and my misses are far more manageable. For me that equals one more GIR per side.
One more GIR per side means I'm starting to break 80 on a regular basis.
