Cleveland VAS+ Irons

Summary:
I have a set Cleveland VAS+ with Regular steel shafts. Bought them when I was 13 shortly before I stopped playing. I think they were about $350. They were great clubs for a 13 year old kid, but not anymore.

I'm now 20 and actually concerned with improving my game. Took about a 6 year break and now I'm re-addicted. These irons no longer satisfy me though. I hit the 9 iron about 140, the 6 iron to about 170, and the 3 iron around 190 These clubs love to get HIGH and they tend to fly with a slight draw. If that's what you're looking for, these will provide it, but they are shorter in distance than any other iron I've tried. For reference, I've got a Ping knockoff gap wedge that I hit 135ish yards. I've got a pretty powerful swing and I would like to see more distance from my iron play but these irons seem to top out.

On the plus side, these irons are forgiving and easy to get in the air. They also provide good feedback for cast cavities. The ball does stop where it lands, even with the long irons. They do look very strange when lined up but you get used to it.

Over all, these irons are good but not what I'm looking for. If you are looking for a shorter but higher ball flight, these irons will give it to you. I prefer to hit irons over woods and hybrids and would like to see longer flight to cover those distances.

VAS+

Summary:
I've been using these clubs for almost 6 years. I'm at the point where I consistantly shoot in the low 80's once I break off the rust from the cold weather and its due in large part to these clubs. I use stiff rifle shafts on these clubs and boy do they feel smooth when you hit it clean, but man do you feel it when you miss hit the ball. I hit my 9 about 145 and my 7 about 165 and I can add 5 more yards to each when I'm between clubs. The only reason Im even considering getting rid of these is that I would like to get down to scratch and the offset of these clubs just doesnt let me work the ball like I want.

Great clubs for anyone looking to get their score into the low-mid 80's

Cleveland Vas+

Summary:
I, being a lefty, have a tendency to fade the ball just like every other lefty alive. So after playing with a set of ping knockoffs I decided to go buy a nice set of irons. WOW. These irons are great! I hardly ever missed with my old clubs but now I NEVER miss. They might look screwed up but these clubs are the greatest thing to ever to sit in my bag

Cleveland VAS+ (stiff shaft)

Summary:
Purchased these irons 7 years ago. Showed immediate improvement over my older irons. These are great for game improvement. Ugly, but get the job done. The offset keeps your hands in front and allows for a slight draw when ball is struck correctly.

Just ordered a new set of Tommy Armour 845 Stripe irons, but will keep my VAS irons as a back-up set for visitors or in case I ever need to take my game back to a starting point with forgiveness.

If you can find these and don't care about looks ... buy 'em.

I've seen some reviews state these irons are short, but I hit the 9 iron about 130 yars and the 7 iron a little more than 160.
