Ping I3 Driver

Summary:
I recently purchased a Ping I3 Driver of a certain online auction site for £40. Whilst the head was in fantastic condition with one chip to the rear and no face marks the shaft and grip to my dismay were unuseable when it arrived. Fortunately i live within a mile of the Ping factory and i had it reshafted with the PING TFC 100D Stiff and 703 grip. Upon the first round of golf i noticed an immeadiate change the ball flight was much straighter ot has enabled me to accurately drive just past the 300+ yard mark on a few occasions. But not only that a controlable draw is now available in my shot arsenal.

Customer Service:
The customer service was fantastic as i had the club in and reshafted ready for use in two days.

Ping i3 Stainless 9 degree

Summary:
Been using driving irons off the tee the last year since I started playing again and once I felt comfortable I decided to buy a driver. After going to some shops and swinging and reading on drivers for mid-high handicappers I decided on the i3 stainless. Bought it new on Ebay for $50 and it was great deal at that price. I pushed it right the first two rounds I played with it but now that I'm swinging it better it hits down the middle in the short stuff. All it takes is a nice relaxed swing and it will go where you tell it. Distance is good, I'm 33 and I hit it just as far as the guys in my foursome (45, 52, 55) who use titanium clubs. One of them even uses an Adams GT 360cc and this Ping i3 holds it's own. I like the 198cc head size, the super size ones feel awkward to me and you can actually hit this driver off the turf with the right lie. That certainly helps on those 600 yd. par 5's. The controllability of this club and usefulness on the turf allowed me to ditch a 3 wood and add a wedge to my bag which I love having. At anything under a $100 this is a steal and even if you use the big drivers this makes a safe alternative on tight courses.
I decided on the 9 degree loft because the one part of my game I've never had problems with is getting the ball in the air, this driver has a nice penetrating flight path with no ballooning which I see my partners do sometimes with those 10.5 and 11 degree clubs.

Customer Service:
Good, I registered the S/N with Ping on their website in case I ever need service.

Ping i3 Driver

Summary:
Got this Ping i3 as part of a set of Ping i3 fairway woods.

Couldn' hit this club much at first. Improved my swing somewhat and went to a stiff JZ shaft. Big improvement overall. I have this driver with 9* of loft and probably should be using 11* instead. I also think the RSS set up is probably not the best for me. I should have a RUS set up instead. So get fitted for this if you can and I think you'll be very happy with the results.

I like this driver and will be looking to improve my drives with time. I usually hit this around 250 and now rarely not hit the fairway. Very controllable club and forgiving overall.

I would definitely recommend this club.

Ping I3 w/ steel shaft

Summary:
This is a very short hitting driver. I lost 15 yards off the tee and gained just a little accuracy. I got the 12 degree loft model with a steel shaft and regret it. The club seems too heavy for its short length. A graphite shaft would probably help. It's a 3 wood impersonating a driver.

Callaway Big Bertha

Summary:
This club is the best!!! --I am most impressed by mis-hits. I tend to get quick and snap hook the ball but this club compensates for those mis-hits like none other!! It has also added 20 yards to my drive. Make sure you swing smooth and slow to put it on the sweet spot. It will take all your lunch money to buy it but it is worth it.
