Strata Tour Ulitmate

Summary:
The Tour Ultimate is very similar to the pro V1. The only differences between the 2 are the Tour Ultimate is softer and awesome for par3's and approach shots. The Pro V1 might be a little longer. But the Strata is much cheaper. Even if your apparch game isn't too strong you can make this ball "hop and stop." And the feel when putting is also really good.

Strata Tour Ultimate

Summary:
Not too fond of this ball. Has a good feel but, my irons eat this ball up. It's usually pretty scuffed up after 3 or 4 holes. It's also about 5 to 10 yards shorter than a Pro V1.

TU1

Summary:
I've scored the most birdies with this ball and Maxfli Revolutions. This ball is now as cheap as the Maxfli Revolutions, at about $22 a dozen. It probably flies longer than the Revolution though not as soft. If anything, the Revolutions may be too soft.

Yes, it does scuff easily, but it is easy to control. It is one of the better value balls in the market.

I've also played the TU2, not nearly as good as this one.

Strata Tour Ultimate

Summary:
Nice, softish (not mushy) feel off the tee. And this balls really accepts spin well. My limited experience is that it carries about as well as the ProVI and spins almost as well. In fact the spin of the Tour Ultimate seems to be more predictable than the ProVI (not VI*, which I have never hit). I have not played the ProVI as much as the Strata but have, on several occasions, seen what I call "anamolous spin events" with the ProVI where (for example) a 80 yard SW has spun wildly off the green. I have not encountered this with the Strata (which I have played quite a bit).

But this thing scuffs after being given a harsh glance. I have never played a ball that scuffs so readily. The courses that I play are tight, but without a lot of water holes, I don't lose a lot of balls. I'm not sure that I spend less for Strata's than I would for ProVI's at 50% more.
