Shoots in the 70s Model Reviewed: Ping JAS Anser putter Summary: Knowing that basically all equipment reviews are subjective, I've been hesitant to post a review of any of the equipment I've tried because, in all honesty, what works for me may not work for you. However, this putter compels me sing its praises. It is the first golf club (of any type) that I would suggest is actually worth full retail price, which was in the neighborhood of $500. I think almost any putter can be very effective if it fits you properly (and Ping's fitting system is just as applicable to its putter line as it is to its irons), but this putter provides the same speed no matter where the ball contacts the face and the tungsten weights in the heel and toe aid tremendously in squaring the face at impact on those days when you're just not "feeling it" on the greens. In terms of feel and feedback (very subjective terms in themselves), I can't distinguish a real difference in this putter and my Cameron Studio Newport (and that's a good thing), although I certainly feel more confident with the Ping in terms of speed and distance control. As a lefty, I was able obtain a new one still in the Ping inventory, but I'm not sure they remain available in a RH model. There's always eBay (read "discount"). I am typically very critical of golf equipment in terms of Value, but even at retail price I honestly consider this to be a 5 star value. At eBay prices, it's simply a "no branier". Bottom line, my putting stroke seems to be better and I'm consistently making more putts and leaving myself more tap-ins than ever in 25+ years of this crazy addiction. In trying to keep up with my statistics, it looks like I'm taking, on average, 3 to 4 fewer putts per round. That's huge for me. I can't find another club in my bag (or any putter formerly in my bag) that I can say has consistently saved me that many strokes every round. Customer Service: I dealt with Ping's Customer Service Department many times (both telephonically and via email) recently regarding the new S58 irons (which I currently have on order). Each time the person at the other end was very prompt with their response and extremely hepful. In over 25 years of using various Ping equipment items, I've had one repair necessity, which Ping handled quickly and entirely at their expense. That was several years ago. I've also had simialr repair needs from a couple other companies and did not receive the same level of committment. I really believe this company sets the standard for all other equipment manufacturers. Similar Products Used: Many high-end putters.
