Summary:
Tested a bunch of putters in all price ranges, but kept coming back to this one. NO REGRETS. Love the way the ball come off the putter face. Weight of the putter is great for fast greens. Love the non-glare look. Didn't think a putter could SIGNIFICANTLY improve my putting, but this one has done just that. Can see this in my bag for a very long time.

Summary:
This club will compete against my 20+ year-old Ping Anser 2. I really like the old Ping (27-30 putts per round) but decided to dive into the groove thing. I tried a number of groovy putters and this one was closest to the Anser. I'd pay extra for one that's the same weight as the Ping. The Callie-f feels heavier and that's an adjustment. With two whole rounds under my belt I can say that I feel confident with this stick already. I'm adjusting to the weight for longer putts but the comfort level was instantly up on anything inside 10 feet. I went back and forth between new and old on the practice green and can say that I really like the way the ball comes off the face of the Callie-f. It is not a gimmick. I do think this putter is over-priced, though. I suppose the market is supporting it with guys like me out there...

Callie F (Forged)

Summary:
I recently purchased the Callie Forged. It is similar to the Tracy II I have in that it is an Anser style heel-toe putter. However, it is forged out of Maganese Copper Alloy and the C-Grooves are left with the copper color and the body has anti-glare stuff on it. It is heavier than the Tracy or an Anser and it's coloring makes it a very "spiffy" looking flat stick, but it is pricey. Like $300 on the Yes web page and $250 on Ebay. So I guess this is their "high cotton" putter entre! Who cares it's golf, right? If I had any knock on the C-Groove technolgy it is that unlike most heel-toe weighted putters, in which off-center hits are not so unsatisfactory, the Callie requires sweetspot contact in order to maximize the effects of the C-Grooves. Mis-hits come up short and very long putts over 30 feet can squirt 10 feet past the hole. (It couldn't be me.) Anyway, that's the bad news. The good news is the putter is so inspiring there is not a lack of confidence on the 10 footers coming back. I have to say that I was about as faithful to putters as a hollywood movie star is to his spouse. But, the C-Groove spin is the "Real Thing". You should see the looks of astonishment from playing companions when the ball comes off a smooth stroke and spins end over end for the entire 15 or 20 foot journey into the hole. (BTW, I think this is the killing zone for this putter. On short ones it is deadly but many putters are or should be. I've already discussed the long ones.) And it is this zone (10-20 ft) where weekenders only make 10 to 15 percent of their putts. Double your production and listen for the "Ka-Ching" as scores drop like a rock. It is the spin that makes this putter invaluable not the looks and again the spin is most convincing on center hits. I have had golf clubs that require a smooth consistent swing but never a putter. I can't say I put a proper smooth stroke on it every time, but four or five one putt greens per round will keep this bad boy in the front seat every time. For what it is worth, many European players use the C-Groove technology and I heard that of 150 LPGA players at a recent event, 35 had Yes putters in their bags. Where there's smoke... Who should use it? There is no substitute for a sound swing and a smooth stroke, but if you aspire to the smooth stroke side of the equation this device should pay off in at least 2 to 4 pops per 18 holes.

I had been using a Ping Craz-E and a Scotty Cameron Phantom II with mixed results. Good days, bad days, like any putter. So I switched back to the Yes Tracy II that I use as an office putter and dropped six putts off of my round average. I liked the weight of the Craz-E and the alignment characterisctics of the Phantom, but neither device put a consistently smooth roll on the ball and so I switched to the Callie F which had the weight I wanted and lines up nicely like the Scotty.

Summary:
This putter is amazing. The head weight is perfect and the grip is comfortable and promotes confidence. I can see why somany pros are using this baby now!!
I was using a Ping craz-e which is a good putter also but doesn't make the ball roll as well as the callie. Normally, on longer putts that isn't that critical but on the shorter nerve racking putts, the Callie ensures immediate roll ensuring the ball goes where you aim. I have cut off 4 putts average from a round since using this new putter. Much better value than the scotty's and I think the quality is unmatched. Give it a go, you may be very surprised.
