Ben Hogan Apex Tour (2002)

Summary:
I normally play ProV1's, but thought I'd just try the new Hogan Apex ball and the Wilson True Tour this past Sunday. Played the Hogan on the front nine - I found it to be very long, maybe a bit longer than the ProV1 (with both irons and woods) and it has a softer feel, especially off the irons and putter than the ProV1 - but I'm not crazy about the look of the ball (logo and dimple design). Played the True Tour on the back. For me, it had a bit more of a piercing trajectory and seemed to be as long as the ProV1. It has a bit harder feel, most noticeably on the long irons (bit of a clack sound), but still feels very good. Maybe it was psychological but I putted the eyes out on the back and shot 4 under 32, which with the 36 on the front made for a pretty good round. I really like the look of the Wilson ball - it's very white without having a plastic look to it. Overall, these two balls are right there with the ProV in performance. One thing they both have over the ProV is that the seam is not nearly as noticeable visually as it is on the 2002 ProV. For some reason that bugs me!! They're both top notch balls and worth the bucks (assuming you think the ProV1 is)!!

428 Hi-Spin

Summary:
Really did not seem like a high spin golf ball. I noticed no more feel around the greens than I do with a better distance ball. It is pretty neat to look down and see Mr. Hogan's signature on a ball though.

428 Hi - Spin

Summary:
This ball is only good for less experienced golfers and I wouldn't recomend it to single figure handicapers. It come off the club face to hard and there is little feel around the green
