Summary:
The Pros: This ball does EXACTLY what it says, goes long and straight, dead straight.

The Cons: I tried out a box of these and every ball I hit I tore the cover to shreds. There's not much control either, the ball flight is very boring and somewhat dead.

I highly recommend this to the high handicapper who doesn't have much power but also has a banana slice or a captain hook, this ball can help.

Summary:
Pros: inexpensive, long (in fact, it is used in Long Drive competitions).

Cons: No control, no feel. For me, these far outweigh the pros listed above.

Summary:
Last year, I really enjoyed playing the Maxfli XS Distance Ball. Gave me noticable distance gain of about 5-10 yards per club. Now, that ball is no longer around. So I am looking for a good distance ball, with solid feel but controllable in the short game department. Never been a big spinner of the ball, but I hit the ball reasonably high and usually my shots hit, roll a little and stop.

First off, this Pinnacle ball is pretty darn hard. Hitting it off of "today's" thin faced drivers sends an uncomfortable jolt through my hands. Irons felt a little hard but were ok. Short irons really jumped off of the face. Trying to hit controlled short wedges into greens from 50-80 yards out, I often over shot the green and had little control.

I had a full 8 iron to an elevated green from 140 yards out, well struck and the ball hit 5 feet past the pin but rolled another 15 feet slightly up hill ! Thought that was really odd. Later I had the same distance shot (level with the green), well struck and the ball stopped after a few feet with the green slope going just slightly down hill.

No noticable gain in distance at all with this ball on full shots. I also had some real nice draw drives hardly roll on the fairway with this ball. I just find that the ball performs erratically at times, and has a harsh feel to it. I am giving them to my son (he won't know the difference) and have just purchased the Wilson True Velocity balls. This years ball search continues...
