Shoots in the 70s
Model Reviewed: TP Red and Black
Summary: I shot 79 Today with the TP Red. This happens about once or twice a year, in the last two years every round I've broken 80 with has been one of these two models. I've gained distance (now I drive close to 300 yards most of the time, as opposed to 270-280) and find that the spin and ball flight are more consistent than any other high end ball I've tried. (with an amateur swing anyway) Putting feels good and the ball checks up nicely and consistently with my wedges. I've played both Pro V models and the Bridgestone stuff, but these balls seem to work best with my swing.
I gave a sleeve to a good friend earlier this summer, he's never gone back to anything else and it's knocked 3 or 4 strokes off his game. I think this ball makes the game more fun, at least for me.

Summary: The new Penta balls are great at first play...but they easily get scuffed up and their flight pattern is altered after that happens. They actually went farther than my usual Pro V1 balls so I was excited to have that extra 10 yards of distance. But after too many of them got scuffed and "flakey" I have chosen not to purchase any more of them.
Customer Service: It would be nice to get my money back for the two dozen balls sitting in my locker at the club.

Shoots in the 80s
Model Reviewed: Taylormade Tp Red
Summary: I have been playing with most of tour level golf balls. feeling heavier than other tourball, but it goes consistently.
Titleist Pro V1x is quite similar to TP red, but it has tendency of sticking to driver surface when teeing off.
Customer Service: never been to CS for ball repair or service.
Summary: Having a faster swing speed(115+), I figured that these balls would NOT give me any extra distance. I was wrong. Completely. My average drive is around the 305-310 range, and with both the Black and the Red, my distance range increased to 310-315. The feel of both balls suits me much better. It isn't soft and mushy, and it isn't hard and clicky. It's in between. I also gained half a club with irons and wedges. Off the putter, the ball felt softer like the Pro V1x. Workability became even easier, even though I am a scratch golfer, the Tp balls were actually easier to control when it came to altering height. With my former Pro v1x, a spinner knock-down would balloon quite badly. With the Tp balls, the spinner knock-down is flat and still manages to spin back anywhere betwen 5-15 feet. Great ball. Try it.
Summary: I switched to the Taylor Made Red and Black models after playing the ProV1 and Pro V1x models.
Taylor Made Red and Black balls off the tee are much much longer, straighter and soft off the tee with my Driver. These balls are much more superior to anything I have ever used.
On approach shots, I get perfect spin and control with my wedges. Long and mid iron flight are perfect with these golf balls.
the Taylor Made Red and Black balls putt real well too. Durability is very good. This is a perfect golf ball. I"m sure NASA could not beat the performance of the Taylor Made Red and Black balls. This is a Must ball to play.
