Summary: I was ecently in the market for a new driver and this particular one caught my eye. I did some research on it and was pleased to see it got very high reviews. I decided to go to my local Dick's and egt ftted for one of these clubs. They told me to try a 9.5 loft driver with the gold stiff shaft. I promptly went out to try my new club and I was blown away. After playing a round of nine holes I averaged the distance of all my drives and discovered I had added an average of 30 yards to my tee shot! I can also hit my draw more consistently now thanks to this great club. I cannot recommend this club more highly. Kudos to Cleveland!

Summary: I got a change to check this beauty out today. All I can say is this is one of the greatest, and most underated, clubs on the market. I had a handfull of drivers that were over 300 yds. I am a former professional so yes I can hit it over 300 yds. The distance, however, is not the best feature of this club. This club rewards good swings and punishes poor swings. I recently tried the TM Burner and all I can say is Yuck! This club might be alright for those who have no athletic ability but for serious golfers the Hi-Bore is the way to go.

Summary: After 14 years of using my Callaway Big Bertha Warbird Driver, I decided to try some new driver technology. Since I only play 5-10 a year now I did not want to spend 300+ dollars for a new one. I saw the Cleveland Highbore XL Tour Driver at Dick's Sporting Goods for $145 and decided to give it a try.
I don't know if it's the new technology built into drivers since 1994, but I could barely hit this thing offline. I have allways hit the driver pretty long and straight but using this thinh is like cheating!
I got the 9.5 degree with the stiff/red fujikora shaft. I am hitting this thing at leat 20 yards longer than my old Big Bertha Warbird.
This club can't be beat for $145!!!

Model Reviewed: Cleveland Hibore xl
Summary: I shoot mid to high 80's only playing once in a while, used to play to a 6-7 handicap when I played regularly.
I bought the Hibore XL based on reviews and how it felt when I swung it at the store. It's a 10.5 loft with gold stiff shaft. My normal swing speed is 101.
I find it has an unusually low trajectory and a friend who tried it for a few holes and who is a much better golfer than I am now found the same... but he hit it long and straight (albeit low) while with his own driver he had less distance higher flight and a slight fade.
Mis-hits do not stray too far, but give up a lot of distance. I have been using a 3.25" tee and I think it needs another half inch height to catch this club on the sweet spot, which seems to be closer to the top of the clubface than the middle. I have been for the most part catching the ball on the lower half of the clubface. However, when the sweet spot is hit it is the longest, straightest club I have ever hit and responds to the extra oomph very well.
My previous driver is a nicklaus air max with a 10.5 loft and with the 3.25" tee produces a high straight ball flight with good distance - I just didn't like that when I gave that little extra oomph, the air max didn't respond and could get a bit wild.
Just as the salesman strongly suggested to me on purchase, I should have taken it to a driving range before taking it to a course. I need to experiment a bit more with this driver to give it a thumbs up or thumbs down, but for now I see a lot of potential, I love the feel of it and how it responds to cranking it up a bit. There is an ability for a low handicapper to work the ball with this club but for a higher handicap they will get a longer drive that should stay in play if teed high.
Prices on the XL model are pretty good now, so I would say it's a great value club.
