Summary:
i think that the big ben ben hogan is the best and easiest to hit club ever i started playing golf 2 years ago and have had this driver ever since and i helped me gain yards using this drive is better than acually going out and buying a driver. earlier this year i bought a diablo octane and have been using the ben hogan still. i love it and wouldnt trade it for anything.

Summary:
i play with this driver, and its the best club in the bag. i hit the ball 200yds+. which is reasonable for my age but its a great club, i tryed the taylormade tour burner, i hit it well but i hit the ball 20yds+ past it. it has a great feel, look, and if you have the right weight and shaft it works. if it doesn't work well your doing something wrong because iv'e had others hit it 250+ and liked the feel. this driver decreased my score by around 5 strokes and helped make pars and birdies so it is a great driver. i also rate the range better than the R11 but not the nice the feel(R11 feels great). it makes a great sound and its easy to hit. i have a stiff flex shaft and together they fly long and straight. thnx
keep'em on the short stuff :D

Ben Hogan Big Ben C-S3

Summary:
This is the 2nd driver in my collection right now, 1st is a Callaway FT-9. I paid $25 for this clean used Hogan. A good value. New ones are on E-bay for $60 - $99. I hit this club consistently straight. With the 10.5* loft I tend to baloon the drives too high, but always on target line. Ball impact sound is a nice smack. Address alignment is a little strange as the clubface looks a little convex and open for a fade. But I can easily hit a draw without fuss. The appearance of the sole and heel is a little goofy with the non-moveable weights. The sole is a funny looking trapazoid shape. Not a sexy pear shape look, but seems to work well for me. Stiff shaft works good with my 85mph swing speed. Reliable, Predictable, confidence building Driver. Recommended.

Customer Service:
Another E-bay bargain basement priced prize.

Since 2005 I have bought and sold just about every Driver made. Yeah even a SMT with a 47 inch shaft and a swing weight of D-5. Call me fickle (or just plain stupid). But I never pay more than $100 for a Driver.

Summary:
I picked up this club because RockBottom had it listed at a great price. My irons are Hogans and I love them so I was biased by a little brand loyalty. The larger head size was nice since I have been playing a Cobra 414 Comp. It set up real well at address but I didn't like it at all after playing a few rounds. The sound was like an aluminum bat (drew the wrong kind of attention), and the performance was a downgrade from my Cobra.

I put it away in my closet for almost a year and a half until breaking it out at the end of last season. I was swinging with more velocity and the mitsubishi shaft on my Cobra got too whippy and I my driving suffered. The Hogan was fitted with an aldila shaft and after smoking a few 300+ dives with this club the sound it produced didn't matter anymore.

After getting a swing speed to match the club I am very happy with the performance. My only knock against it is that the weights are not adjustable. That simple addition would have given this 5 stars. Still a great value if you can find it at a good price.
