FT-5 Neutral 10*

Summary:
I play off 25 handicap and I usually drive avg 320 yrds, now my avg is 420 with this club.... why does every review sound like that??!! people are pathetic. Realistically this club is very forgiving and has helped me gain the consistency off the tee, it wants to go straight all the time. I have gained around ten yards from my previous driver (bang), due to it being easier to catch the center of the club face. I got this for 70 quid on ebay, a good deal from a reputable dealer. Callaway know how to make drivers, and the FT-5 is a classic. Highly recommended. And remember guys, don't listen to the bullsh*t reviews people leave. The FT-5 is good, but its no miracle club that doubles your driving distance.

Callaway FT-5

Summary:
I was glad to get the FT-5 driver this spring on special because of the reviews I read on the net. Left my Srixon 506 aside for the summer and tried to control this driver which I never could. Lost many yards driving and went from left to right. My handicap went down. After four months I went back to my Srixon 506 and got 25 yards more on my drives and they are all straight. So Callaway FT-5 is really not for me. I recommend that this driver should be tried out before buying.

FT-5 Callaway Driver

Summary:
At the age of 39, I found myself relocating to Minnesota (and with plenty of free time.) I always wanted to take up golf, and decided to buy new clubs in June of 2009. I did A LOT of research on my own, however after consulting with a local golf pro and testing several "tour"-style drivers, he recommended I try the FT-5. Despite the fact that the model I tested was a few years old, he insisted that it had a reputation as a very forgiving driver that should improve my accuracy dramatically. He was right. I loved it, and purchased a neutral FT-5 with a stock shaft through Callaway pre-owned for around $200.) Again, on my pro's recommendation, I was fitted for a new shaft. I went with a Bassara V63 S Flex and I couldn't be happier. The shaft made a REALLY big difference. I'm not a big hitter (240-260) but after working with the pro on my swing tempo and mechanics my accuracy has gone through the roof! I recently shot a 94 (my previous best was 105) and hitting 13 of 18 fairways was the reason. This is a great club for somebody just getting into golf.)

Customer Service:
This driver came with a 12 month warranty, and from what I've read here, Callaway seems like a very reliable company.

Prior to this I was using a six-year old Peak Oversized Titanium driver.

FT-5

Summary:
I have gone through a lot of drivers over the years: TaylorMade R7, Nike Sasquatch, Cobra 460. By far, this is the best driver I've come across. First, it's just hot off the face. The ball seems to jump off the head. With the R7, I was averaging about 230 with a good shot going 250. With the FT-5, I'm averaging 250 and the good shots going 270-280. I got the draw bias model, and while it doesn't completely cure my slice, it keeps me in the fairway much more often.

I bought mine used at Roger Dunn for $200 and it was well worth the price. I would definitely try it out, especially if you're not that long off the tee. Before I got this club, I thought that I was the reason that I couldn't hit it 270. After buying this club, I know it was just getting a better driver

Customer Service:
Great. I bought the club used for $200 from Roger Dunn. A few weeks ago, the head came loose from the shaft. I called Callaway and they immediately emailed me a UPS mailing label to ship them the club. They are now sending me a brand new replacement club. That's great customer service.

Callaway FT-5

Summary:
I have been playing a Cobra Speed M and decided I wanted to try to get a little lower ball flight and get a driver with less sping and more distance. I had read many a rave review about the FT-5 so I decided to give it a try. BIG MISTAKE. For me this driver just did not work. The driver was much too light for my liking. It had no feel to the head and little feedback to the hands. I was not impressed with it at all. I had the 10.5 degree. I tried it for about two weeks and sold it on E-Bay for much less than I paid for it. I went back to my Cobra and it felt so nice. I have since tried a Ping G10. This is a very nice driver and I it will share my bag with the Cobra. It may eventually take the bag all it itself but I need more time to adjust to it. There may be Callaway driver fans out there but I am not one of them. Cobra and Ping both are miles ahead for feel.
