Description Variable Face Thickness Technology is carefully calibrated to increase the efficiency of the clubhead at impact to maximize ball speed, resulting in a more penetrating ball flight
Summary: I have always liked the sound and compact feel of the steelhead line. I have been spraying drives too much the past few years with the latest and greatest drivers w/ graphite shafts.
I had my old driver in the garage and said, what the heck, I'll reshaft it with steel to the original specs (43.5") and lo and behold I feel comfortable again.
Overall, not as long as my Mizuno MP-600 but nice medium trajectory and tighter dispersion pattern. Love that Callway "ting". Not bad for $50 w/install.
Looking forward to fall golf in Colorado.
BTW, 4 stars in a very good rating.

Summary: There's an element of preference with golf equipment, of course. I can't embrace the 460cc drivers. Fun to grip it and rip it, but I don't feel like I can control them. I have a couple of aging favorite "midsized" wood sets and started panicing about what I would do when I needed to buy something new.
Bought a "pre-owned" Steelhead+ 9degree with firm graphite directly from Calloway for <$50. The said it was "average" condition, it wouldn't pass a new, but it was close. Looks like they had regripped it and aside from a few inconsequential marks, it looked like a new club.
A few trips to the range and a round on a tough course yesterday and I feel like I've commited some kind of crime. Leaps off the face and travels on a rope, right where I pointed it. Lots of feel, but very easy to hit.
I'm not long-obsessed, which is not to say that I'm not long. I had one 290 yard drive yesterday with some terrain help. It's just hard for me to say comparitively how long this club is comparted to others. I may test it against some of my other drivers someday, but I wasn't losing any distance.
The key with me is getting off the tee and down the fairway to where I wanted to be. I will say that from a distance standpoint, every par 5 that I used it on, I had a technical chance to reach in 2. I didn't always chose to try, but the club was not holding me back.
I'm very happy and may start looking for a strong 3 weed to go with it.
Customer Service: Can't believe how great of a service Calloway's pre-owned system is. What a great company.

Summary: I have had the Steelhead Plus driver for 5+ years and thought it was time to upgrade. I tried the NIKE IGNITE TW and was slicing the ball all over the course. After a month of driving frustration, I decided, if it is not broke, do not fix it. So I went back to the Steelhead Plus and I love it just as much as when I purchased it. I am consistantly 280-300 with a slight draw and I don't have to swing that hard. The head is nice to look at and it is not as bulky as the oversized clubs. The ball flys off the club and sounds great on impact. I have since bought a 7 wood and a 4+ wood so I have the entire set. Love this club and will not play with anything else for a long, long time!!!!

Summary: I have the stock steel shaft which makes it nice and stiff and a tick shorter. I got this driver because I was so impressed with the 4 wood model I had. No disappointments. Very true driver, encourages you to make a smooth swing. I'm not a very long hitter (235 avg.) but I haven't found anything else that I can keep in play. I love the "smaller" head and simple look. Great club.
