Summary:
I purchased a 10.5* Speed Pro D, Aldila VS Proto By You stiff flex last month. It took a while to adjust to the characteristics of the club. Even with a 10.5* loft it still launches lower than the 9* F Speed that I used previously. The surprising thing about this club is that I have to swing smoother ( and slower ) than with my 9* F Speed but I've gained a few yards and better accuracy, probably due to the increased loft. The clubhead is definitely heavier than the F Speed, measuring out at D5 with a total weight of 325 grams vs. the F Speed D1 and 300 grams. If you play courses that don't require a high launch off the tee this may be a good club for you. To me the prime selling point is workability vs. the F Speed model. I picked this club off in like new condition off Ebay for $129.

Summary:
My review might be a bit hackneyed with other reviews that already have been written. While it is a 460 CC driver, this is not a club for high handicappers and beginners, unless they are committed to long practice. This club requires a fair about of swing speed (at least 90 mph) and consistency in hitting the sweet spot, albeit a large one. If you can swing fast, then give this club a consideration. For me, it is both longer and more accurate than my previous driver (Callaway FT-3). This is the first driver since my steel shafted Taylormade Firesole from 8 years ago that I am able to draw or fade with relative ease, but with the added benefits of increased power and accuracy. I have gained a consistent 15 yards longer drive. A bad swing isn't as forgiving as some other drivers, but it's a driver that forces you to swing properly. As with most high cc drivers, tee this high and place in front of your stance. Great value, I got one for 80 bucks, since it was a demo model that was hardly demoed.

Summary:
This is my second X Speed. The first on lost one of the weights in the sole of the club. A buddy wanted to buy it so I sold it to him rather than contact CS. I wished I'd have gone right then and bought another. A previous review states all of the references to hitting it 300 yards with this club is rubbish. It isn't. You DO have to be able to play golf. My handicap is 3.6 and has been as low as 2.8. My swing speed is around 112-115 mph. I BOMB this driver. I have hit this driver over 325 yards. The clubface is HOT. Yes, you have to have a high swing speed to use this club so, if you don't please don't buy one and give a bad review. This club isn't for the normal mid-80's golfer. This is a players club. And a dang good 'un at that. I can work it either way making it versatile, too. If you can swing it 115 mph you should demo one. You won't be disappointed. The harder I go at it the straigher it goes. And the sound is PERFECT.

Summary:
This is a very long driver, but you really have to have a high swing speed to get the high-kick stock shaft to work effectively. I actually prefer this model to the new Pro Speed series- the sound and feel are much better, and the stock Aldila shaft is solid. The face is very hot and it'a also huge- a great feature on later model Cobra drivers. I feel like Cobra did a great job of mathing the shaft to the head. I played a 9.5 degree R7 460 for a while, with a ProLaunch Red shaft, and the ball flight was penetrating. The X speed, which I play in a 10.5, has a slightly higher ball flight, but that is because of the high kick shaft. The feel and sound are just great- I would not change anything other than the thin stock grip. I consistently hit it 260-290, and it is very forgiving. You just have to have a fast swing to get the ball in the air. You could conceivably swap out the shaft for a lower kick shaft and be fine- the square face angle does not affect forgiveness. You won't slice or hook the ball with this club unless that's what you normally do anyway.

I had the Pro Speed driver in a 9.5, which was fine for me. But I went back to this older model (which I bough off of EBay for $50, almost new.)

New is not always better. I will have this driver for a long time.
