MacGregor M38 8.5

Summary:
I just got back from the golf store and the co-owned driving range. The store will let you take a few clubs over to the range to try out (pretty nice). I am looking for a good used driver, as I do not need to spend a lot of money. I tend to hit the ball high, so I thought I'd try out some low-loft options. I took my old/current King Cobra 10.5*, a TaylorMade R510 8.5*, a Titleist 975J 7.5*, a Callaway X460 9*, and a MacGregor M38 8.5*. I have been researching clubs a bit lately, and I almost didn't pick up the MacGregor in the store because it's name didn't impress me (yes, I'm shallow). I hit my Cobra first, then the TaylorMade, the Titleist, the MacGregor, and then the Callaway. Hands-down the Macgregor was longer and straighter for me than any of the other clubs were. I only hit a few shots with each club (about 5), and I did not hit a single slice with the Macgregor. I know it's not a large or scientific test, but if first impressions mean anything, I'll likely be buying the used MacGregor in two weeks on my birthday. I may pick one up on ebay before then. The golf store has one $79 and will likely come down a little, but these clubs are really inexpensive on ebay!

Macgregor v-foil eye-o-matic 10.5*

Summary:
This club is pretty dominant. It goes massively far and is really loud. =A lot of people say they don't like the loudness but I don't mind a bit. I used to hit the ball about 200 yards, but now I am easily hitting it 230. I bought the club off of ebay new for $21 but hit definitely hits better than the price says

none needed

macgregor mp38 driver 9.5 ys stiff shaft

Summary:
was looking for a driver as my callaway 454 was giving me an inconsistant performance. read all the driver reviews and purchased this soley on the review. what a great decision!! just took it to the course and buzzed around just hitting off the teeoffs. hit about 5-6 ball per hole off the tee and once you got used to the hollow sound it makes, it goes a long way. the sweetspot is fairly large and even a miss hit will go pretty well. the club looks good and sets up very well. the consistancy/straightness is what really is nice. ball flight is long and straight. i'm 54 years old and shoot in the high 70's to low 80's but have struggled this year getting off the tee. from what i can tell, my golfing buddies aren't going to be happy with my
$45.00 purchase. just looking at the same eye o matic 3 wood to purchase. sure happy so far and can't beat the price for the performance!!!
