Model Reviewed: Ping Rapture V2 9 Degree

I recently purchased a Ping Rapture V2 Driver, 9 Degree with Graphalloy ProLaunch Blue 55R shaft and Ping cord grip. This was a special order club that went for $499 brand new. It was used once and I got it for $149. You know why? Because I'm the man. Took it out today and hit bombs on the range. One after the other. Like Iron Byron but in the flesh. Great driver that delivers a penetrating trajectory with lots of roll. Easy to fade, hit low or hit high. Well, I should say it's easy for me. Listen up fools, this club is the deal. Later lads, I've got a lady I've gotta go see about.

Customer Service

Let's just say they treat me like a player.

Had a Rapture driver 2 years ago and didn't like it. Always played Ping irons growing up. Looking for an opportunity to use Ping Drivers once again, and found this Rapture V2 for 140 bucks on eBay. I love it. The club has a very traditional look at address and a nice crisp sound off of the clubface. A couple of things - the shaft is key. Bought it with the Diamana Blue Board shaft, which is fantastic. It is incredibly responsive - it can handle my hardest swings, and yet when i try to swing easy, it doesnt feel like a board. Considering that the shaft itself is 300 bucks, getting such a club now is a steal. Don't know if it's the aftermarket version of the Diamana BB, and don't care. It's still a really nice shaft.

Ilove this driver. I have the 12 degree loft and regular stock shaft. It gives me high shot and very straight. Distance was an upgrade for me.

I compared this to other Ping drvers- K15,Gi5, Rapture V2 10.5 loft and found the chosen one to be straighter and maybe 20 yards longer that the K15 and G15. The 10 degree V2 was as long but not as accurate.

Picked up barely used ex demo for half price with the Diamana stiff shaft upgrade. Has replaced the G5 in the bag.
Goes long with great ball flight and eems very forgiving. I would probably recommend most would benefit going up a loft over there present drivers.Highly Recommend this driver.

I would just like to add my two thumbs up for the V2. Compared to my G5 it is more forgiving, keeping it in the fairway more often. When I strike it solid, it is also longer. I was considering a G15 but now you can get the V2 now for less and I think it is more club for the money. I work at a golf course pro shop and have hit every driver out there and always come back to Ping. The V2 is truly exceptional and a must try, especially since the price has come down. You won't be disappointed.

Great feel off the face. The sound is very satisfying due the tungsten weights. A very pretty club with a classic headshape at address that will intimidate hackers. The stock TFC shaft is not very good, but a real Diamana is offered as an alternative. (The high price is not justified with the TFC shaft). I played the original Rapture, and the V2 is a completely different animal. I do miss the composite head from the original. Overall a very nice driver that will attract feel players and those looking for a modern classic club.

Customer Service

Ping has very good customer service.

Upgraded from Rapture.
After taking a fitting, purchased 12* with Diamana Blue.
Hit it easier and farther than Rapture. I love it!

Customer Service

Good!
If you thinking to get Ping, do not forget to have fitting.

I picked up this driver about 3 weeks ago and It was instant love. I have played with four or five different drivers in the last 3 years. Lately, I had settled upon a Cobra that I was hitting pretty consistently and was not really in the market to change. But I happened upon this used Rapture 12 degree in a store and having never hit a 12 before, was curious to try it.

It immediately felt great in my hands. The weight balance seemed very comfortable to me and indoors on the simulator the results were great, so I bought it and have been thrilled with it ever since. I can hit this club dead straight and am getting excellent distance with it. It is easily the most forgiving driver I've ever played with. I have hit shots where the curse word was already out of my mouth only to look up and see the ball coming back into play.

Obviously, with the 12 degree loft, Getting it up in the air is no problem, but by playing the ball slightly back in my stance, I can easily hit a lower trajectory shot when wind conditions dictate.
