TaylorMade TaylorMade R7 Draw Drivers

TaylorMade TaylorMade R7 Draw Drivers

DESCRIPTION

Switched from the R5 Draw to R7 460 Draw. No transition time at all, began hitting this one perfectly right away. I had a Prolaunch 55 Regular flex in my R5, but the ReAx stock shaft in the R7 Draw is an incredible shaft, feels very similar to the ProLaunch. No need for an upgrade in shaft - as long as the off-the-shelf flex fits you well.

As has been stated many times in these reviews, the 'Draw' clubs are not magic. You still have to make a good swing. Just a little technology assisting you, that's all.

As with a lot of Taylormade drivers, the feel is solid, the sound is good, and the distance and forgiveness are money.

I've always had a nasty slice on occasion, but anyone that knows a little bit about the mechanics of a golf swing knows not any one club is just going to correct a slice. I figured I'd give this club a try to see if it lessened the slice when my swing goes south, well, it didn't. I even got less distance off my drives that I sliced. It was not as long off the tee as my MacGregor MacTec NVG2 either. No club is going to magically fix your swing. If you need help, get a lesson. If you want a quick fix to a slice make sure you roll your wrists and square that club face at impact.

I have only been playing golf for 3-4months. I couldn't stop slicing it off the tee and into the trees. A friend let me try his R7 Draw and it has really cured my problem and helped my confidence so I bought my own. I'm now hitting the ball as far - if not further than my friends-and have went from 100+ to hitting a 94 this week with 7 pars. This club is truely amazing!

Sweet Driver! When you hit this thing well, it soars. I used to have a horrible slice, but after getting this from a friend, I'm able to hit 260 without too much effort and with a beautiful draw towards the end.

I went from a big bertha driver to the taylormade r7 460 draw and it helped my golf game dramaticaly! I hit the ball about 20-30 yards farther and its a lot straighter as well, since this driver has fixed my slice i decided to move on to the r9 buy i still keep my r7 close at hand!!!!!

I was very disappointed with this club. I bought it on a whim and sold it at a lose. It was 20- yards shorter than my old Adams 430 driver and it did nothing to fix a slice. If fact the only thing it did was fly ridiculously high. I had to swing really hard to get the same distance as my 8 yrs old driver. It think my best grip was with the stock Re/act shaft. I've hit these shafts in a friend of mines irons and I do not like them either.

In the R7 Taylor Made draw driver I've found the Holy Grail. No more gadgets, cures or courses to straighten that slice. Now my ball finds 70 per cent of fairways - close to tour average I believe - or nestles in the light rough. I've gained only a little distance so far, but being on the fairway gives me excellent opportunities to hit the green in regulation and now my scores are starting to tumble. I'm sure I'll starting hitting the ball harder as my confidence in the club grows. Even though the R7 has been superseded by the Burner, there are still plenty on E Bay. I was lucky enough to find a new one. Try one and straighten your banana.

My usual ball flight is long with a slight cut at the end, not a slice. I lose a little yardage compared to the guys I play with that hit a draw. I bought this trying to get a little extra roll out. I hit it on the range prior to playing and hit it straight vs my old cut. If you have a swing flaw this driver will not produce the magical draw that is being affected by a swing with an outside to inside swing. If you can adjust to an inside to outside swing and round off your swing some, this driver will produce the draw you are looking for. I was able to fade this driver on a dogleg right when needed by using my normal swing and squaring the face at delivery. I bought the 9 degree with the one degree closed face. The 10 degree has a 2 degree closed face but due to the shaft makeup I went with the 9 to keep from hitting it so high. My ball flight is perfect with the 9 and if I make a good swing the ball draws high and travels. I actually did notice a significant distance increase on the drive probably due to the overspin vs sidespin I usually get with a square face G5 Ping I played with. If you are a good golfer that can make a small swing correction to the inside out swing, this driver will produce what you want. I recommend this driver for golfers with a slight cut or someone looking to find the middle to left side vs the right side all of the time. For severe slicers they should use this along with a review of their swing path to make a correction. It definitely eliminated the right side for me!
