Titleist 909D3 Drivers Review

Titleist 909D3

Description
With a classic pear profile, deep face, and 440cc titanium construction, the Titleist 909D3 is a high performance driver delivering mid launch with low spin.

The 909D3 features a tour proven, modern profile that creates a low and deep CG for reduced spin, higher MOI, and longer, straighter drives. The classic pear shape with a smaller, deeper face enhances workability for shot and trajectory control.

The tuned sole of the 909D3 includes optimized pockets and an internal rib for reduced vibration, providing solid feel and better sound.

An integrated titanium blind bore hosel design saves weight, provides solid feel, and allows for more shaft options. The factory installed SureFit Swingweight Screw helps to position the CG deep while also providing a precise head to shaft match.

909 d3

Summary:
Never thought I would find a better driver then my 983k.Played it for 7 years but after the face of this best friend got cracked I tried the Taylormade and Mizuno but they just did not have it for me. Finally decided to go back to Titleist and tried the 909d2, as this had the best reviews
Did not like the look, too big for me, and at the try out I was hitting slice after slice. Picked up the D3 from Ebay, without trying it as my golf shop only has the D2. Long story short, installed with a voodoo stiff shaft and a swingspeed of 100 I hit between 230 and 250 which is approx. 10-20 yards further then with my 983k. Easy to keep it straight, more difficult to shape my shots them with the 983k. Will be in the bag for a long long time.

909 D3

Summary:
This is easily the best driver I have hit in over 5 years. One of the few that does exactly what the marketing machine say it will do, low spin and boring, penetrating medium trajectory. I mated it with a UST Axivcore X-Flex shaft and gained not only 15-20 yards in distance but even more importantly much tighter shot dispersion. The ball explodes off the face and the sound is a pleasing rifle shot. I haven't been this confidant over the ball in a long time. It has been through a dozen rounds pretty much point and shoot, and very easy to hit both cuts and draws with it. I have never been a big fan of the Titleist drivers, but I am searching high and low for an 8.5* LH model as we speak. You don't need to be a scratch player to max this driver, & if you have decent swing speed (+100) you will love the way the ball feels coming off this head. Match it to the right shaft and there is no way you will not be pleased. I can't wait to play all the time now, and mostly because I can't wait to hit this damn driver. Bomb and gouge, baby!!!

Summary:
I am a highly-educated person and a better than scratch golfer. Let's just say I'm a rarity. When people meet me that say "wow, not only is that guy smart but also he can sure hit the ball a mile". I got this driver as a gift from my employer because I'm the best at what I do. I get everything for free because I know how to schmooze. Anyway, I hit this driver a country mile. Further than anyone I play with and I play with the best. I've been taking a lot of money from my buddies and nothing makes me happier. No need to read any other reviews.

I understand that Tiger will be putting this club in his bag when he returns for the U.S. Open after ditching Nike. Perhaps if you had used one with a different shaft you might have rated it a 5.

Titleist 909D3 9.5 degree

Summary:
Great new driver from Titleist. I didn't think I would be taking out my old trustey Taylormade Burner TP '07 for a long time because I couldn't find a driver that matched it. Well I finally did. The new line of 909 drivers are all great. The Dcomp is for the higher handicapped player, while the d2 and d3 are for the middle and lower handicaps. My handicap is about a 3 so I purchased the 909D3 with the stock Diamana blue 65g shaft in stiff flex. The 440cc head is very nice. It took me a little while to get used to the smaller club head, but it doesn't cause the club to lack distance and makes it much easier to work the ball which I like to do off the tee. It sets up square to even a little open at address, which I like to see with my driver. I can't stand to look down at a driver with a closed face at address. I replaced the grip however with a new decade multi compound golf pride white grip just so it was the same as the rest of my clubs. Great all around driver for distance and working the ball as well. Also avaliable in Aldila Voodoo stock shaft.
