Titleist 983K Titanium

The 983K driver features a 365cc full pear profile. The larger head size compared to the 983E, produces a moderate launch angle and higher moment of inertia for playability. The slightly heel-biased i...

983K

Summary:
Used to play off 1 with the hot face 983K but handicap has slipped up to 3 with a 907 D2 over past 2 years.

Resurrected the hot face this winter to see if it was me or the club and am delighted to say it was the club. My mates were impressed with my driving but delighted I would have to give it up come competition time. However, Ive managed to source a legal version with the same Titleist 4560 shaft and its just as good. Haven't tried any other shafts but this one seems to work for my natural low ball flight.

Can't wait for the season to start, this driver is the best: Long, penetrating ball flight, looks good at address, workable and hittable off the deck. Really makes you realise that golf manufacturers are businesses which need to sell new "improved" products which are actually inferior. Bigger is not always better!

Titleist 983K driver

Summary:
Like most of the previous reviewers, I must confirm the excellence of this driver. I had been playing a Big Ben (Hogan) driver that had me nicely in the fairways with good distance, but one day tried the 983K and much to my surprise found that I was keeping it in pretty easily while greatly improving distance. My biggest hits, every now and then are about 340, but I regularly hit respectably long and with this stick as long or longer than the other guys. I also play blades and recommend "Smash and Carve" as the best golf book I've read. The 983K is an excellent driver, long and quite manageable.

Titleist 983K

Summary:
I got this 983K last April (2009) after reading reviews, paired them with 980 fairway woods. Love the fairway woods, not so happy with the 983K driver. The driver is not meant for 80s shooters who have sloppy techniques such as myself. 90% of the time I slice it something terrible. New models with larger heads (i.e., 460 cc), and new advancements such as Nike Dymo Str8 fit and Taylormade's R9 ability to adjust the angle of the clubhead really straighten out my shot.

So overall, this club looks great, feels great, great value ($30 on Ebay)...just not for my imperfect driver swing.

Titleist 983k

Summary:
I have been playing with the 983k, 9.5 for 4 years now since I started to break 85. Just ordered my second one on ebay for 40 bucks with a YS-7 stiff shaft for my second set at my other home.
The face of the driver is big enough for any golfer, and the feel and consistency of this club is superb.
i think that this is for anyone as long as you pick the correct shaft. A stiff shaft for a slow swinger will kill you with this club.
I can fade it or draw it with ease, it has a boring trajectory.
I can launch it 280-300 but rarely need to hit that big, as 250 is more than enough for me...Callaway steelhead plus 3+ gets me 225-250, so only use when I need 250 plus yds.
Playing smart golf allows me to hdcp at 11 and once in a while break 80. (twice).
Been playing for 5 years.
Awesome club for the money...especilly now in secondary mkt.

Titleist 983K Driver

Summary:
This was my first driver. I decided to get a used driver since i didn't want to shell out big bucks if my driving game wasn't up to par. Being a beginner, I had a hard time w/ this driver. It is a lot smaller than the 460cc drivers out there. After a month, i borrowed my cousin's nike sumo. I developed my swing, and the forgivness of the big club head provided me w/ great results. After a week or two, i decided to give my 983k one more shot.

All i have to say is WOW!!! My improved swing resulted w/ me hitting the 983k +275 yards. I can even hit nice draws. I returned my cousins' sumo, and i can't be any happier w/ my 983k. if you can find one, grab it. you won't be dissapointed.

FYI: it was installed w/ the aldila NVS 65 which i highly recommend.
