Scratch Golfer Model Reviewed: Krank El Diablo Summary: I bought an El Diablo on Krank's internet site. Got it and really liked it. Unfortunately, it developed a crack on the top just behind the edge of the club face. Krank replaced it and upgraded the headcover no questions asked. I actually bought a 6 degree with a long drive/XXX stiff shaft while waiting for the replacement because I loved the driver so much. I have hit that one for months with no problems and it is a rocket. When I got the replacement back, it eventually developed a crack in it too, same place. I called them and paid the difference between the El Diablo and their new Rage driver and got a Rage coming. Krank rep. said the new metal they used on the El Diablo was a bit hit or miss in terms of durability. Some [like my XXX shaft] batches of the metal were great, some not. My swing speed is 125 - 135, so I hit it a long way. I don't think it will be an issue for someone with more typical swing speed. Haven't had a chance to hit the Rage yet, but I was assured it is a very sturdy model w/ the same up-side as the El Diablo = distance. But, as disappointing as it was to have the one crack, it is a very good driver and obviously they are good about standing behind the product. I will buy from them again...but that may be a while since I love the ones I have. I'd give it 5 for performance despite the issues I had with it Customer Service: Customer service was good. Both by phone once and by 'chat message' on the internet. No b.s., they replaced it and upgraded with no hassle. I just had to ship it to them.

Shoots in the 80s Model Reviewed: Krank El-Diablo 9 degree w/ Fujikura Deisel Tour 46.5" stiff shaft Summary: I thought id write a review on here because I always read reviews on here before I buy any equipment. I haven't seen many reviews out there for the El Diablo so I decided I had to post one.
I first heard of Krank when my brother got a set of fitted clubs for his graduation present. With the set was this strange smooth faced driver. at first it was hard to get used to the look. then I hit it on the first tee. It was awesome. A 300 5 yard draw right down the middle. I was hooked. used it the rest of the round, I shot 10 shots better then I had all year, went home and ordered my own.
What is Krank?
Krank is a company that makes drivers for long drive competitions. According to their website they are leaders on the long drive circuit. The long drivers are 50" shafts but they also make USGA conforming drivers for the recreational or competitive golfer with a bit shorter shaft.
I've found there are lots of misconceptions about their drivers. People tend to think its just another gimmick like the Jack Hamm driver or on the course people have come up to me and my brother thinking we have some sort of Wal-Mart or Canadian Tire bin driver. (well until we hit them:) ) Anyways these couldn't be further from the truth. The Krank el-diablo is a great driver that deserves to be looked at with all the top drivers out there.
My Driver and My Review:
I ordered the 9 degree with a Fujikura tour stiff shaft. I'm 6'4 so I went with a bit more length in a 46.5" shaft.
I picked this set up based on some questions I answered on the website. I'm sure its not optimal but it still works great for me.
Before this driver I had a Yonex Cyberstar, and a Taylor Made r7, I hit them both about 270 on good drives maybe could push 290 on my best drives and I would hit them straight but sometimes spray them left or right but nothing too bad.
With my Krank its just on another level, I hit a good drive 300 no problem. I have drove the green of a 345 yard par 4 and carried a drive over a hazard 320. Would of also easily won longest drive in a best ball tourney but was 2 yards in the rough.
The positives:
This club is really a lot of fun. I have gotten a lot longer off the tee as well as improved my accuracy. I can still get left or right but its better then my old clubs and I'm usually already so far down the fairway its just a short iron to the green anyways. The smooth face seems to give less back spin so you in turn get more roll especially if its dry. It looks cool and sounds awesome. (golf purists might not like it) but me and my friends love it when I bring out el-diablos they call it.
Negatives:
I am not that great at working the ball so I don't know how great it is for that. but if I try and can keep it right or keep it left with this club.
I don't know if this is a negative but sometimes I hit the ball so far down the fairway I loose track of it in the air and have a hard time finding it even if its just a yard or 2 in the rough. Also you might want to make sure you get the right shaft for you. I hit my driver about 10yards longer on my best drives but like I said I might miss 5 or 6 fairways a bit left or right per round. With my brothers UST proforce V2 shaft I'll only miss about 2 fairways a round.
Overall I'd say anyone who wants to hit it farther and have more fun blasting it off the tee should try a el-diablo with an open mind.
There are lots of golfers out there who say they can hit it 300 yards but in reality everyone knows its 250-275. Try this you will maybe actually hit it that far, or maybe win longest drive in a best ball tourney. It fun to go hit balls out of the driving range. (50 bucks says I can hit it over the highway, any takers?)lol
Customer Service: Ordered on-line had my club in a week Similar Products Used: Taylor Made r7, Cobra Speed Series, yonex
