Yonex V/Mass 350 Driver

Summary:
Excellant Driver - Good for my swing - about 105 mph. Owned approximately two years. At purchase, I narrowed to Titleist 975 and Yonex - eliminated Callaway and Taylor-Made early. I recently tried Adams Redline, but could not get better performance over my Yonex.

Draw assisitance from the Yonex, as advertised, is a reality. Added 2" extension, Winn Grip, and lead weighting to bottom, rear, and heel-side of club for extra elevation, punch, and draw-assistance, respectively. Note: draw-assistance was evident, even prior to weighting.

I have good confidence that I will get a draw and excellant distance with my usual swing. I can fade it, but with less consistancy. I have more confidence with trying to "work" this club than any in my bag. If I don't break 80, it's not usually because I didn't drive the ball well.

I'm giving it a high Value Rating because I suspect it can be purchased for less than I paid for it - it's worth the $300, no doubt, but I wished I'd have shopped a little more.

Customer Service:
Excellant service from E. Watts - taped up several drivers for me to try.

Yonex 350 V Mass

Summary:
I am just updating my Jan 03 review. I have used the Yonex 350 V Mass 10.5*/UL-titanium 7 shaft for 7 months now and I am convinced with this driver. I am now shooting in the 90's after only using this club at the range (10 times and the golf course (14 times). Went golfing with a friend of mine who tried my club and asked if he could buy it from me after using it. He is now looking for a Yonex. Anyway hope this review helps.

Yonex

Summary:
Just started to play golf after a 17 yr layoff. Was looking to find a driver to increase my length off of the tee. I have been using an Orlimar Trimetal plus 16* four wood to drive off of the tee and would get about 180 to 200 yards when I'm lucky. Whenever I would use a driver off of the tee I did not have any confidence whatsoever. I would be killing worms with my drives or slicing the ball. My friend told me to try different drivers and not to give up. On the reviews that I have read about drivers, many reviewers say that the type of clubhead and shaft combination make a big difference. Well this is one thing that I have learned while testing different drivers. I have tried the Titleist 975D regular flex, 10.5* I believe (very unforgiving for me and could not get a good trajectory, the Callaway GBB Hawkeye 10* w/ AJTech firm flex ( I would tend to slice the ball most of the time with the Hawkeye or get a duck hook), the Cleveland Launcher Ti driver 12* w/UST Pro force 55 R flex (Probably the better of these three however, I was not very consistant with this club either. Then just today I went to test a Yonex V-mass 350 Ti w/ Yonex UL-Titanium7 7 R flex shaft. This must be the combination of club plus shaft that has given me the confidence to use a driver again. On my first drive it was very low but felt solid. Then as I kept hitting with this club I was driving it straight most of the time with a few errant slices, however this club was very forgiving and satisfying to hit the ball solid. I was consistantly getting the ball to go straight with good roll. I would definitely recommend this club to anyone who has given up on using a driver. Can't wait to get to the driving range again and then out to the course. 90's here I come!!!

Yonex V-Mass 350 titanium 9 deg driver

Summary:
Really impressed with this driver - it came fitted with a Proforce 65 S shaft and gives me a good extra 20 yards off the tee with a draw just as designed to do with the tungsten weighted head.
Ironic that now that Yonex are turning to tungsten heads on their 'woods' I see Callaway using Yonex technology to produce their C4 !
