Reviewed by: AJW ,  Shoots in the 90s

Model Reviewed:
Pt-plus 3

Summary:
The pt plus is a very simple and refined wood. Set up to it and what you see is a smallish jet black pear shaped head with only a gold dot for alignment over a shinny metallic face which sits a fraction closed. The cosmetics and the excellent grip are some of the Pt's best features.
In use its a bit of a mixed bag. Trajectory's are high but not ballooning and distance is good on shots out of the sweet spot. The head is very light and I've put a little lead tape on the heal so i can feel it in the back swing. More problematically if you put a poor swing on it or hit it out of the toe and the ball will drift out to the right. The pt plus doesn't offer the sort of forgiveness that some fairway woods do.
The Pt plus is a budget alternative to clubs like the f980 very traditional and elegant and offering shot making possibilities to the low handicapper.
