Cleveland Hibore XLS Fairway Fairway Woods Review

Cleveland Hibore XLS Fairway

Description
The ultimate fairway IMO. I tried and almost bought the Titleist 906F4 3 wood with the V2 shaft but then tried the XLS out with the Red stiff fit-on shaft in a Strong 3 wood (13*) and man i launched that thing!

Very light, gives confidence at address, beautiful sound at impact. I had a Hibore 15* 3 wood with the yellow stiff fit-on shaft and it felt like i was launching the ball high in the sky. I decided to trade in my Driver (Hibore XL with the stiff fit-on yellow shaft) for a Hibore XL with the Stiff Red Fit-On Shaft and what a big difference it made in distance and trajectory (this shaft is IMO the best shaft ever to be used on OEM equipment).

I then decided to try out the 3 wood XLS with the same shaft and it gave me perfect trajectory every time.

This 3 wood is a winner for me. Now lets take it to the course!!!! If you have a pretty "Strong" swing buy the Red stiff not the Yellow Stiff. If you have a lighted swing and cannot get the ball high enough in the air go for the yellow stiff or regular fit-on shaft.

XLS 3 Wood

Summary:
I never thought I would be playing Hibores. Always felt the scooped crown was odd and ugly. When I saw a Hibore wood at a golf shop, I was surprised at the attractiveness of the actual club. Shortly after, I purchased an XLS 3 wood. The XLS is a very solid and has horsepower. Carpenter steel face is very hot and the feel at impact is amazing. The sound is a satisfying low thwack. Very forgiving, and the large head inspires confidence. Classy matte finish, and the overall appearance is surprisingly tasteful. You have to try it to be convinced.

Cleveland Hibore XLS 3 wood 15*

Summary:
I've been playing TM V-steel for years now and again caved in the club face for the 2nd head in 2 years, which Taylor Made replaced it w/ new head every time. A golf shop recommended the XLS. I thought the Taylor Made v-steel were the longest fairway woods until I hit the XLS. It's also a very forgiving head and easy to set up square to the target w/ it behind the ball. The Gold stiff shaft was on the soft side and the ball flight was a little too high for me. I think the Red shaft would have been the best choice for me had I known the difference between the two when I bought it. My swing speed was clocked at 110 mph average. Even w/ wrong shaft I still hit it very long and hit more fairways than w/ any I used before.

XLS 3 wood 15*

Summary:
I'm about a 16 handicap. (I don't play or practice enough!)

I held off from purchasing new fairway woods for a while now. I was playing the Cleveland Quadpro's from the 2002 era. (Nice clubs, but the face on them were fairly small)

I have a Reg, red shaft. (Higher kickpoint) This club kicks A** ! I hit it at the range and it is very forgiving. I was easy to hit long and straight, even with an imperfect swing that most of us have.

The larger club face gives you more confidence to make a full swing. If you were a bit fat or thin with a smaller head, the results would not be good. With this club, chances are that your still getting quite a bit of ball.

The club also looks great at address. This is a club for any golfer.

This is the BEST Fairway Out there. Oh and its a great deal about $20-$40 cheaper than the competition!
