Summary: My buddy let me have his Knife 9W after he "upgraded" to Cleveland hybrids. I liked the club so much that I bought the 3W and 5W off Ebay. I'm a beginner, so there's a lot of variation from one shot to the next. But, when I keep my head down and make a controlled, smooth swing, VERY good things happen.

Summary: I've always had trouble with a long second shot. My swing isn't fast enough for a 3 or 4 iron and it's hard to hit a normal fairway wood out of the rough. I picked up this 7 wood for $20 on ebay and it was well worth it. Knowing how well it works I would have paid much more. This club is my staple 2nd shot. It hits great from any lie. I just picked up a 4 wood to help with par 5s.. hopefully it works out as well. I would suggest it to anyone.

Summary: Bought a 9 after seeing an advert and wow! , first time I tried one it was out of medium rough. It popped the ball out and flew straight at the green some 180 yds and hit the front and rolled on towards the flag. Its been in my bag now for two years and I wouldn't be without it. I recommended it to a friend who couldn't hit a fairway wood to save his life, he went through several brands of rescue clubs. Now he's consistently knocking these to 200yds, no problem. So impressed he went and bought the 3,5,and 11. He is so concerned about breaking the 9 he wants to buy another just in case they stop making them. One thing I would say is hit down on the ball from the middle of your stance. Another thing is they don't seem to work as well when the ground is very soft.

Summary: What a great club. I have been playing the knife 9 wood (26 degree) and have had some great days with it. If I don't shift my weight properly and use my legs I tend to hook it badly with the 9 wood, but usually if my swing is okay the 9 wood performs well.
Anyway, I just recently tried the mid-knife 4 hybrid, even though I have been relatively unconvinced with the hybrids I have tried (Heavenwood, Orlimar were not great for me, Ping hybrids not too bad....all saw limited use). Well guess what, the mid-knife 4 (21*) is better than all of them. Solid feel on all but the worst swings, a nice tendency to go high and straight with maybe a small draw, and equally good from the rough and the tee. What more could you want from a club you can get on ebay for less than 25 bucks???
I actually like the mid-knife better than my 9 wood because it seems somewhat less closed (clubface), and like I said earlier, if I don't shift properly I will hit hooks....so far that hasn't happened with the mid-knife 4. I'm sure once the "honeymoon" period is over I will hit a bad shot or three, but as for now I am sold on great value and performance!!
Customer Service: Not needed so far...well constructed and no problems.

Summary: The best 5-wood I ever hit.
Wow this 5-wood is so long and dead straight, even from the rough.
If you want to reach par5s in two, this is your club.
I highly recommend the La Jolla Knife 5wood.
Customer Service: Purchased it from rockbottomgolf (ebay) from $14 including shipping.
Great service.
