Acer Golf XP Professional Irons Review

Acer Golf XP Professional

Description
The Acer XP Professional Iron is designed for the mid to low handicap golfer looking for the same powerful design as the standard Acer XP but with greater workability. Reduced offset and thinner topline provide the features the better golfer is looking for.

Summary:
Having a 10 handicap and taking a 5 year break from golf, I could no longer hit blades so I started looking at what was reasonable to get back in the swing of golf agian.
I chose these based on design (very much like the Calloway X22. I had them fitted and shipped with a stiff rigle shaft and mid grips for $185.00. What a deal! After having them for about 9 months now I have shot several games in the high 70's. What can I say, they are forgiving and pretty accurate. I can also work the ball with them as well.

Summary:
As with any club, the first thing to do with any club is get it fitted. I've had these for several years and my handicap has improved from about a 12 to a 5. These irons are silky smooth and laser accurate. And for the price, I challenge you to find a better set or irons.

Recently, I have tried Titleist 695cb and Callaway x-20 tours. These clubs rival the feel and accuracy of each of those iron sets.....and I saved about $700.

I have also talked several people into these irons and they are very happy.

Summary:
I made up a lefthand set of Acer XP Pro Irons 2 years ago. Originally with True Temper Dynamic Steel shafts. Now re-shafted with Harrison Graphite shafts. All bought from Diamondtour.com and shipped to the UK.

I was looking for a decent Cavity Back design, similar to Callaway, with reduced offset and of course Lefthand. An almost impossible combination. These are the perfect head. Good quality, amazing price and they hit the ball very well. I am delighted with my choice.

There are plenty of component iron heads available but they tend to have way too much offset which causes you to shank more often that you would with a "Pro" offset. I recommend them to anyone.

Summary:
Incredible clubs. All photos I have seen on the internet do not do them justice. They are high polished and pleasing at adress. They have a heavy head and feel remarkably similar to a Mizuno blade, but are much more forgiving. They are also great for touch shots in between clubs. I bought these clubs from Gigagolf.com and I am very happy with their service. The TT Featherflight shaft that comes standard is a great shaft also.

Summary:
After hitting a few dozen balls at the local pro shop, I traded in my Callaway X18 for these and now have had a few rounds under par. The short irons are extremely accurate. The long and mid irons are very workable. I can draw and fade the ball very easily. The 3-5 irons are about 10-15 yards farther and the short irons only 5 yards longer then my old set. That took a adjustment for me. But after long hours at the range I have distance under control

Customer Service:
very good
