Palmer Original II Irons & Woods

Summary:
I bought the Arnold Palmer Original II
set on close-out at a local store. They
are beautiful clubs and very forgiving.
I have played Hogan Edge and Titleist
irons for several years, and the Palmers
are every bit as good. If you can find
these clubs, grab them. They are a great
bargain.

Customer Service:
Golfsport in Minneapolis was a very good local retailer with excellent service. Unfortunately, they had trouble competing with the local big boys: Golfsmith, Golf Galaxy and Austad's.

Arnold Palmer Original II

Summary:
Before getting these irons I was having a lot of trouble hitting the ball straight, these irons with the smaller head did the trick for me. I havent used the nicest irons in my time but got a great deal on them and my score continues to drop. I reccomend these clubs to anyone who wants a nice set at a great price!

Standard II

Summary:
After trying all the clubs in the store, these were the most balanced irons I've ever used. The radical weight design is no gimmick. Although I've just started 2 weeks ago, I can hit 200+ yards straight with them. I prefer the "smaller" head size compared to other irons. As a tennis player, I know a well balance racket when I use it, and this is no different. I can hit the "sweet spot" much easier with these irons. Wedge shots are also easy. These are for intermediate to advanced players but I recommend them for any beginner! A bargain at closeout prices...

Arnold Palmer Original II

Summary:
I had a set of Armour Silver Scotts and they worked OK for me. I also tried Ping, Powerbuilt, Titleist 981(liked them - but expensive). I was in a local golf shop about 2 weeks ago, and the salesman suggested that I demo the Palmer Original II's. I couldn't believe the clubs. Not only are they high quality clubs, but they are very forgiving, even more forgiving than the Titleist 981s. In addition to hitting the PW to 5 iron very well, I am now hitting the 3 and 4 iron great as well. You can work the ball fairly well, too. Today, I went out and shot a 37 (one over par!) for the first 9 holes of a challenging local course. That's two strokes better than my all time best - when I was in college (I'm 55 now). All I can say is that for me, these are great, easy to hit irons, and I highly recommend them. I picked my set up for $300 on closeout (3-PW). If you can find them, at least demo them. You won't be sorry.
