Hogan Apex 50

Summary:
Just got these the other day and took them out for a drive. Didn't feel hitting them off mats gave me a true feel for the club, so I went to my club where we have a variety of conditions, i.e. some very spongy ground to very, very firm hard tie grass. Without exception the Apex were comfortable in all conditions. I am an old time "hitter" of the golf ball, not a "sweeper", so I was a little fearful of the "dig". The sole is very responsive and handles someone that hits down on the ball, the way I do. With DG Gold X-100, I though I would have to replace the shafts (54 years old with new hip). Amazingly, they hit the ball quite easily, especially when you need that high, soft 8-E coming into a green. Thats right, a high, soft shot with spin, with X-100s......something has to be up. And of course, the long irons, especially the 3 hits the ball just the way Hogan would have loved.....an low, climbing but piercing little draw.

Still can't get over the looks I get when I strike the ball from 150 with my 8 and it goes sky high and lands like a "butterfly with sore feet". Just shake my head and say, "hey guys, I am as surprised as you are, but I'll take it."

Suffice to say, with practice in shaping, pinching, and distance control, these will be in my bag for a long time. Wish Hogan was still a "player" on Tour. But oh well.....we "hacks" can show up with these beautiful sticks and take the prize.

Summary:
I bought these irons in the spring of 2009. I was worried about the aspect that they are blades. This quickly dissapeared when i hit them consistantly srtaighter and at least 10 yards further per club. Feeling is like no other iron i have hit. awsome clubs.

Summary:
I have been with apex for 12 years, it is doing better everyday. It is going at your will.7 iron downward is predictable around the cup by a flag lenght. It feels like you hit a butter, very soft and effortless from iron face through your heart.Other market names cannot change my love from Ben Hogan. I love to have second set,but it too difficult to leave the first one,it is part of my haert. Must wait until the first set is totally broken up or be stolen by some Hogan lover.My. friends have changed for many brand names for better score, they do not work well on such brand names. My Hogan rules over them even it is 12 years old.

Hogan Apex 50

Summary:
I initially was apprehensive about switching to blades after playing cavity back irons. I decided to take a chance on the Hogan Apex 50 with apex steel 5 shaft; how could you go wrong for $150?. I have spent countless hours at the driving range and played 10 rounds with the irons so far. I ahve to say that I have been pleasantly surprised with the iron. I have been playing in the 80's for my last 8 rounds thanks to these clubs. Shots hit on the sweet spot are unbelievable; it's like hitting a ball of butter. These clubs will force you to improve your swing. My partners have noticed that my swing has gotten slower and smoother with since starting to play with the Hogans. In a way these clubs are the true game improvement clubs.

Summary:
i have to admit i am quite dissapointed with these irons. I used to have square two, xm-5, a real begginers set. Amazingly, i got my handicap down to a 5.2 and hit at least 60% GIR. I hait them high and straight and could control the ball flight. Now, i hit these huge hooks that are absolutely terrible. I should never have changed from my xm-5s
