Summary: Ok, this is the second set of Ben Hogan clubs I've bought within a month. 3-e for $90 with clubs in very good to excellent condition. Some look almost unused and the 7 iron has been the most used out of the set. I took these out for 18 holes to give them a whirl. The first 3 holes were what did my score (double, triple, triple) in as I wasn't hitting them well (putting was fine). But I managed to dial in my shots from that point on with a few toe hits. The toe hits fell 20-30 yards short (and stung) of what a good hit should have done. It was all a matter of getting my tempo slower, good contact, and letting the club do its job. Although I ended up with a 95, I still felt good about my round and still seem to hit long irons better than my hybrids.
The look of the irons is very appealing. I almost made the mistake of leaving my E iron behind on the green. One of the people I was playing with picked it up and commented on how good it looked.
The shots I hit pure seemed to sail effortlessly where I wanted with a super soft feel and a beautiful muted "click" on the Titleist NXT Tour balls I was using (gift).
With slowing down my tempo, I'm not sure about the apex 4 shafts at this point being best. I'm contemplating reshafting at some point.
I feel I can improve my game with the feedback of a club like this whereas I could never hit a set of Cleveland CG Gold irons (fitted to me) with the same accuracy and consistency. If you want low scores by occasional play, play the game forgiving clubs. If you play and want to know each hit to better fine tune your swing, you won't be disappointed with a set of these. Lessons would ultimately be best, but most of us don't always chose that option.
Love the game, work on hitting forged clubs like these and you'll enjoy your time out on the course.

Summary: I found this new on Ebay under $200 so I thought I'd give them a try. Beautiful forged irons as I'd expect from Hogan. Easy to work the ball either way and the sweet spot is bigger than I'd thought it would be. I would say you should be a 10 handicap or less to fully appreciate these irons. Only criticism is they are about 1/2 club shorter than the most "new" irons; I suspect that is due to new irons lofts being stronger.

Summary: Ben Hogan irons are the best of all irons to work the ball right or left. I have tried every time of game improvement club and my scores go up. When I hit hogans I hit more greens, closer to the pin than any other iron. I am so bummed they are not making them anymore. Best irons every made by far...
Customer Service: I have had 6 hogan sets and sent one club back and Hogan fixed it as iron head just came unglued. Excellent just as you would expect from Callaway also.

Summary: Bought these on Ebay for £110. Firstly theyre the nicest club you'll ever see, beautiful design. ive been using them for the last 3 weeks and they've definatly cut shots off my game. very easy to shape the ball at will, while still being pretty forgiving. they get banged up easy due to the soft steel, but it just adds character to these classics. At around 120 quid on ebay you cannot beat these clubs for amazing value. I wouldn't listen to the other reviewers who say its for single figure handicappers, the blades (E-8iron) are easy to hit anyway because they're short clubs, and the long clubs have a decent cavity making them as forgiving as any improvement irons. I would recommended these clubs to anyone who demands more accuracy than regular cavity back improvers. I hit these clubs one club shorter than my previous MD Tour Steel's, but a hell of alot more accurate. Any Hogan Fan should buy these immediately, you will not regret it.
