Review Abstract The Callaway X-12 sets up nice, and are "excellent irons!" While a little more "bulky" looking, the X-12 give you great control, and allows for high and consistent hitting. You can get the ball airborne with little effort. "The forgiveness of these are great." Capable of shooting in the 80s, these irons are good off the tee, from the rough, as well as from the fairway. You can have effective hitting from all areas around the greens. These irons "allow you to have lots of fun." Owners were pleased with their investment. Callaway X-12 are the irons that "are worth every penny!!!"
Summary: It might be premature to review the X-12 3-pw set after owning it for just 4 hours, but I am so stoked after hitting 2 giant buckets of balls on the range just now that I can not resist. It's April 2009, I've gone through 4 sets of irons and 5 drivers since last Christmas. Only the Cleveland Tour Action were new, the Titleist DCI 981, the Dunlop LOCO, the Yonex ADX, & Wilson blades were E-bay bargains. And today I found the nearly perfect clubs for me, The 10 year old Callaway X-12's with the RCH 96 regular flex shafts. I hit the ball consistently long. I can fade or draw the ball at will. I'm smacking the 3iron 240 yards, and five consecutive shots landed within 20 feet of my target. I can chop shot or lob the wedges like I've been doing it perfectly my whole life. With every club the ball goes where I intend 90% of the time without effort. Golf just got fun again! If anyone knows of an easier set of irons to play, please e-mail me the news. The purchase was a bargain at $157 for a very clean set.
Customer Service: I've owned Callaway drivers and fairway woods in the past. Purchased them from the Certified Used Callaway store in Southern California. Had telephone conversations with those guys twice. They are friendly and helpful.
Similar Products Used: I've gone thru so much golf equipment in the past 2 years, it would take 2 entire computer screeens to list it all. I'm done shopping for irons, these Callaway X-12 are IT for me. Now can I pleae find the perfect Driver, 3W & 5W ?

Summary: ok...I have done reviews about mizuno irons i am using right now...but decided to do some more reviews on these(my ex clubs)!!
So... my handicap is 9 right now and play between 8-12 consistently...2yrs ago when i was 14yrs old I got these and they just transformed me!!
BEFORE...i had nike slingshot irons but 3 weeks after I got these my handicap fell down from 25 to 16...!!
Although I now prefer the mp37's(mizuno) these irons were just too extremely forgiving and comfortable to write a review on them...! I would recomment the to peopl with handicap of 25-14...!
These are intermediate clubs!!
And are most forgiving than the x22's or the x20's...although Callaway says the x20's and the x22's "ARE REVOLUTIONARY EXTREMELY FORGIVING IRONS"

Summary: I have tried to find irons that I could hit better. I love to tinker with new equipment, and everytime I compare new products (G5's, X-20's, R7's, etc) nothing seems to beat the 12 year old X-12's.
I guess it just goes to show you that golf manufactures' new products are more about marketing than advances in technology. And on top of it I am saving a huge amount of money by keeping these as opposed to upgrading. If you are on a budget and want a great club, you can pick up a set of these on Ebay for around $200. Give them a try
Customer Service: Called Callaway the other day to see about getting them fitted to my spec. They are bending them *3 upright, and adding 1/2 inch onto the shaft. I asked about cost, and not only are they doing it for free, they paid for ther shipping. In addition, they are regripping them for free. Could'nt belive it, but it is true. I know of no other company that will do this!

Summary: These were my first "real" iron set when I picked up the game a bit more seriously 3 years ago. Mine have the rifle regular shafts. They are a real confidence builder. I broke 100 and 90 with them. They dont give much feedback but they dont sting either, exactly what a beginner needs. The only reason I changed them was because a bit more control and less offset . I switch to the x-16 pro series. I dont think I will ever be able to play blades so I will stick with Callaway irons for a long time!
Customer Service: Didnt use it but I know they stand behind their product like no other ...
