Description After receiving feedback straight from Tour players, Callaway Golf designers decided to refine the X-Forged Irons. The end result is precision clubs that let elite players dissect the course. Forged from soft carbon steel, the clubhead has been redesigned with more bounce and camber and a tighter sole radius. The thin topline, narrow sole and short blade length allow for excellent workability. The Flighted CG Design produces strong trajectories and premium distance control while the new Progressive Dual Notch Weighting allows weight to be precisely positioned for optimized performance throughout the set.

Summary: I bought these as a Christmas present to myself in 2010. These irons are fantastic. I have the Rifle 6.0 stiff shafts. Although I am an older golfer, I was worried that the stiff shafts would be a problem. However, I find that I have not lost distance over a regular flex. I can still get over 100 yards with the PW. The accuracy and feel is fantastic. Much better than any club I've played. With chunky "game improvement" irons, I would slice and hook shots. My forged iron shots are straight as an arrow most of the time. Even flubbed or fat shots are going straight. The feedback is great. You know when you hit a great shot. Short irons have a high trajectory, and long iron shots are beautiful. Chunky "game improvement clubs will never improve a person's game. The 2009 X-Forged irons are the best.

Summary: I gave these sticks a try and, as usual, I was knocking down the 150 marker with my 9-iron. I hit the marker in the fly with 5 shots in a row. I'm a good stick, needless to say. However, I found them a trite muted in delivery and a teentsy hollow at the core. The best way I can describe it is a turkey sandwhich with no mayo. Suffice to say, I shall not be procuring these clubs. See you at the links, lads.

Summary: After three years away from the links, I decided to motivate myself to get back to the course by purchasing a new set of irons. After spending a month or two looking at reviews and visiting golf shops, I choose the 2009 Callaway X-Forged irons with Project X shafts. Although these irons costs a bit more money than I originally wanted to spend, I am happy that I decided to spend the extra cash. It did take some time to adjust to my swing to these clubs, but the extra time on the range has been well worth it. These clubs are SWEET! I have played golf for years and have never been able to stick my iron shots so consistantly near the pin. If you are looking for a great looking set of irons that will take your game to the next level, buy these clubs!

Dude, you spent way too much money on these irons. You could have gotten a better set buy purchasing the Titleist 990 irons on Ebay...they can be had for about $120. Meanwhile, you spent $1000 and got nothing better.
