Review Abstract
Mizuno's Comp-EZ irons are "a dream combination of forged feel and oversized, perimiter weighted forgiveness." Great distance control, solid set-up, classic look and pure feel have helped these irons "deliver the goods." "Easily bendable four degrees either way" they can be readily adjusted for custom fitting. "Forged clubs are no longer reserved for only "Elite, single digit" Players. "If you are a medium handicapper, give these a try and you'll be very surprised… "welcome to the way golf should feel!"

I am 68 years old still hit 5 iron about 150 yards- driver head speed 110 -started playing at age 50. I started with Ping steel stiff -few years ago I went to Adams GT tight lies senior shaft. One year ago got the Mizuno Comp EZ steel regular. I hit the Mizunos further than the Adams- about 1 more iron on average.

Mizuno Comp EZ

Summary:
I'm an earnest though somewhat untalented mid-handicapper. I've played golf improvement sets since I started playing 7 years ago (some of them deserve the name, others sadly had the opposite effect). I decided I'd like to try a forged set but not spend the earth on a new set at this point. I bought a used set of Mizuno comp ezs (R300 sensicore shafts, 3-PW) on e-bay uk for about £75 in good though not pristine condition though with new grips.
Compared to my game-improvers, these are not longer. However for a good swing the feeling of effortless as you watch the ball fly is just incredible. Many others have remarked on this sort of buttery feeling and I know its true now. They may not improve your scores, that's more to do with technique, but they will increase your enjoyment of a round when you hit the sweet spot. And if you don't hit the spot then these clubs will let you know - great feedback. The pitching wedge is great around the green, I'm going to look out on e-bay for the matching sand wedge and F wedge.
I'll use them for a year or two (perhaps get the lie adjusted professionally) and then probably upgrade to a newer Mizuno set, but Mizuno have got me in their clutches now.
I'd highly recommend them to an improving golfer who would like to know what all the fuss is about forged vs cast irons and who is getting a little tired of looking down at a bulky ugly shovel (however effective) at address.
Good golfing everyone!

Mizuno Comp EZ

Summary:
I purchased a set of Mizuno Comp EZ clubs (S300 Sensicore) new in 1999 after having played Ping Eye2s, Tommy Armour 855s, Slazenger, and Ping ISI BeCu, over the previous 4-5 years. As a regular member of our group, I had worked my hcp down to a 6, but wasn't getting to play as often as blades would require. I was looking for a forged club for better feedback, yet one that still provided forgiveness. Did I ever make the right choice. Immediately I fell in love with the look and feel of these clubs. Then, once having them fit (a must for any serious golfer), I fell in love with the performance. Within a couple of months I had improved my ball striking and carded my first round in the 60's. Over the past 7 years, I have seen my playing time (not to mention my practice time) drop to rather infrequent. Now, I've really seen the benefit that these clubs provide. While my expectations have become less lofty, my ball striking is surprisingly steady. I attribute this in large part to these clubs. I could not be a bigger fan, nor could I recommend them more highly to anyone interested in improving their game. These clubs cannot make up for serious swing flaws (take some lessons), but they will help make up for a less than perfect strike on the ball. The Comp EZ's are no longer in production, but great deals are available online (eBay) for one of the best irons ever made. Since buying them, I've continued to occasionally try other irons, but nothing has taken their place in my bag to date.

Customer Service:
Never had a problem. Never had to call on them.

MIZUNO COMP EZ

Summary:
These are great irons and the R300 Gold Plus sensicore shafts are the perfect compliment for these forgings. Easier to hit than the MX-20's. They helped me shoot 86 yesterday. I'm going to play these for a long time. They're much better than anything else I've played. Nothing else even close.

Customer Service:
Cordial and knowledgeable.

Mizuno Comp EZ

Summary:
I picked up a really nice used set of these on ebay based on all the good reviews I saw here.

I have to agree with them all. These are outstanding clubs. They are forgiving in the sence that the ball will still go straight on misses. There is however a fairly significant distance penalty.

However, a smooth swing "on the button" is amazing. I'm one club longer with a pure shot. The secret is, a smooth swing on center and you are rewarded generously.

My second round with these I shot my best round of 77! Buy these if you are a decent ball striker. You won't be disappointed
