Nike CCi Irons

Nike CCi Irons

DESCRIPTION

The CCi irons combine classic clean lines with cutting edge technology. Each insert is comprised of a high density tungsten weight plug and a feel enhancing polymer. The tungsten weight plug creates a lower CG (center of gravity) position to increase forgiveness while the polymer dampens vibration for a softer feel than a conventional cast clubhead.

The wide -sole design makes it tough to play open face / cut-type feel shots so I still carry my previous wedge for those and sand shots. Overall, these clubs are long / accurate and have good tee and fairway feel with a full swing. They don't suit my close-in game, however- ouch! Carmichael Bounce House Rental

I have these clubs with dynamic gold s300 shafts, standard length. I play 10 index, strong hitter but average putter and poor sand player. 7 iron at 175-180 yards. I have a Sweeper swing with minimal divot.
Bought these off ebay 2nd hand at 200 usd 6 months ago bec i was looking for a players iron with some forgiveness since game improvent irons launch the ball too high for me and i loose distance against the wind.

Summary : These are good clubs for the low mid to low handicap players since it is necessary to have good ball striking to make these work. These are accurate direction-wise and have consistent distance control and workability though quite unforgiving on mis hits. I lose about 20-30 yards on mis hits or if i pull or push the swing it will hook or slice accordingly.

Ball flight is lower than the previous game improvement irons i have tried but maybe also bec the shaft is a dgs300.

Feel - these are harsh feeling forged irons only when compared to mizuno and other japanese endo forged clubs. They provide good feedback so you can feel where you mis hit the ball on the face.

Distance - these have conservative lofts 47 deg for pw yet i hit these about the same bec of it's piercing trajectory.

Overall very good club. 5 star value bec it is a good value for money 2nd hand. 5 star overall bec it delivers what it was designed to do.
Definitely for players who like shaping their shots. Has more control than forgiveness but still more forgiving than a blade. If you can hit irons pure give these a try.

I may not be the best judge as I've played the same irons for twenty years, up until now. I recently picked up a set of Nike CCI's on EBAY. It wasn't until I paid for them that I realized they are for very low handicapers. The long and short of it: I've never hit a ball more consistantly true and straight in my life! I LOVE them they are AWSOME!!! I could always shape the ball a little if I really tried hard. I can draw or fade these at will, which is HUGE to me.
So gald I found them. Too bad it's November in Ontario right now!!!

Model Reviewed: Forged Nike CCi 3-pw

I previously played Titleist 981's and was ready to upgrade. Was this ever a mistake. As noted on review sites...if you have a steep angle of attack (most golfers going for the pin do), forget these irons. They are terrible from 9 iron 3 iron. The amount of spin off the PW is nice from 80 yards. I should also mention these will be the shortest clubs you play (I had to hit 6 iron from 150 compared to the 8 iron I usually hit). Had these clubs for 3 weeks and traded them in for a set of wilson staff Ci6 irons (great set of sticks). Stay away from the Nike CCi Forged irons, please, and move to another brand. Upside? They look so nice! I just had hoped for A LOT more get up and go from them.

Model Reviewed: cci cast

Well, the Nike cci Irons are very forgiving and easy to hit. For the price thay were a decent buy, i bought them when they first came out for 899$ then next season they were discontinued, shows how succssesful they were, they were selling for under 300$ less than a year later, which made my resale value useless, when i was 14, now that im a low single digit handicapper, these irons are of no use to me, they are heavy and very offset, the dynalite shafts that come with it in a stiff flex are not stiff enough and I am not able to shape shots, the trajectory is to high, when playing in the wind it is very difficult to keep the ball low. The guy before who wrote the review and said that he got his custum fitted must not have known what he was talking about, sure he can lengthen the shaft, but due to the fact that the iron is a cast custom fitting them is a joke because you can only bend them a degree at most and they also bend back into place so if you fit them within a month they are back to the normal standard cci. All in all if you are a mid to high handicapper who is looking to improve their game, then these are great clubs for you, if you are a lower scoring golfer, try a tour preffered set or a proggressive blade set. I hit my 8 iron 170 yards on a regular basis with a high cut, i hit that same distance with my old topflites and i hit even further with my friends Callaway x22 tours, these irons do not add distance they are to heavy, the create a more consistant swing. On a final note any set that comes 4-approach is not ment for a single digit golfer!!!!

I switched from a set a Acuity deep cavity cheap irons to these. What a difference it took me a little while to get used them but after 5 or 6 rounds I finnally got used to them. Now i have lowered my score by at least 5 strokes. The only thing with these clubs is that they have amazing flight control. I was able to hit 6 balls with the same exact flight each time. A very consistent club.
